Nafiu Bala Gombe Claps Back at Kwankwaso: โ€œIโ€™m 46, Not 35 โ€“ Oldies Should Step Aside for Youths to Leadโ€ In a fiery response to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Nafiu Bala Gombe has dismissed claims about his age and accused the former Kano governor of acting like an APC mole who has no business interfering in the partyโ€™s affairs. Bala Gombe, said he is not 35 years old as allegedly claimed by Kwankwaso, but 46. He challenged Kwankwaso to conduct proper research before making such assertions. โ€œEven if I were young, Kwankwaso has no right to look down on me,โ€ Bala Gombe said. He reminded Kwankwaso that he and many of todayโ€™s political leaders were themselves very young when they took up major public offices. Bala Gombe further advised Kwankwaso and other โ€œoldiesโ€ in the political space to emulate the same opportunities they enjoyed in their youth by stepping aside for the younger generation. โ€œThey should allow youths to steer the affairs of our parties and the country while they play advisory roles,โ€ he declared. In a direct and hard-hitting accusation, Gombe described Kwankwaso as โ€œstill an APC mole.โ€ He recalled that in 2023, Atiku Abubakar and other northern leaders mobilised Arewa elders to prevail on Kwankwaso to step down for the sake of Arewa votes, but Kwankwaso refused. โ€œHaving refused to step down then, he has no moral justification to bully or advise me on the injustice being done to me by impostors in the ADC,โ€ Bala Gombe said. He warned Kwankwaso to join the ADC through the proper channel if he wishes to participate, and urged him to familiarise himself with the partyโ€™s constitution. Point-blank, Bala Gombe stated that Kwankwaso is not qualified to intervene in the current crisis because he does not regard him as a member of the ADC. โ€œI cannot be bullied by anyone,โ€ Bala Gombe added.

POWER BOOST: The president moves. President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment plan to finally settle the outstanding debts under the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme. The debt repayment plan followed the final review of the legacy debts that have beset the power sector for more than a decade. The long-standing debts accumulated between February 2015 and March 2025. Following verification, โ‚ฆ3.3 trillion has been agreed as a full and final settlement, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution. Implementation has begun, with 15 power plants signing settlement agreements totalling โ‚ฆ2.3 trillion. The Federal Government has already raised โ‚ฆ501 billion to fund these payments. Out of the amount, N223 billion has been disbursed, with further payments underway. What this means for Nigerians: With payments reaching the power value chain, generation will be more stable. With power plants supported, electricity reliability will improve.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES N3.3 TRILLION PAYMENT PLAN TO RESTORE RELIABLE ELECTRICITY President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment plan to finally settle the outstanding debts under the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme. And as the sector stabilises, more investment, more jobs, and better service will follow. โ€œThis programme is not just about settling legacy debts. It is about restoring confidence across the power sector โ€” ensuring gas suppliers are paid, power plants can keep running, and the system begins to work more reliably," explained Olu Arowolo-Verheijen, Special Adviser on Energy to President Tinubu. โ€œIt is part of a broader set of reforms already underway โ€” including better metering and service-based tariffs that link what you pay to the quality of electricity you receive. โ€œThe government is also prioritising power supply to businesses, industries, and small enterprises โ€” because reliable electricity is critical to creating jobs, supporting livelihoods, and growing the economy. โ€œThe goal is simple: more reliable power for homes, stronger support for businesses, and a system that works better for all Nigerians," she added. President Tinubu has commended all stakeholders who supported efforts to resolve the legacy issues in the power sector. He has also confirmed that the next phase (Series II) will begin this quarter. @BolajiADC Hi Bolaji, the man your bosses stole the ADC from is ahead of you. Nafiu Gombe has already gone global to report the hijacking of his party by those he calls "external political actors" and "power mongers". Read his letter to the US Embassy in Nigeria.

There are Parties still moving around and calling themselves Political Parties while knowingly or unknowingly they have been automatically deregistered by law, based on the fact that they were unable to win any seat in the 2023 elections or secure the percentage of votes to keep them afloat,as required by the electoral act. This is another fact not seriously given attention.

You hijacked the party and forged the former leadershipโ€™s signatures. You falsely told your supporters they resigned voluntarily. They went to court, and INEC stopped recognising you. Itโ€™s not just INEC,you may also face serious issues with the DSS.
