Oil is a global commodity. US pump prices (~$4/gal national avg right now) track world crude costs + local taxes, refining, and distribution. Saudi Arabia (~$2.35/gal) and Russia (~$3.60/gal) keep prices artificially low with heavy government subsidies. The US does not. The US is the world’s top oil exporter thanks to record production (~13.8 million barrels/day from shale). Exporting adds to global supply rather than reducing it. No domestic supply is being “lowered.” It’s how free markets work: producers sell where profitable, and prices reflect that reality plus local factors.

U.S. surpasses Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world’s largest oil exporter.

POLL: ICE has been abused by the Fake News Media at levels never seen before. They are Great Patriots who work hard, and do a fantastic job in a very hostile environment. Much of this hostility is caused by the Dumocrats and the Fake News. The concept I have had for quite some time — A strong feeling that the name of these Patriots, “ICE,” should be changed to, “NICE,” in that it will totally discombobulate Crooked, Dishonest, and Unpatriotic Reporters and Journalists. For them to say, “We went to a NICE Facility today,” as opposed to “ICE” or, “NICE Agents have deported a Violent Drug Dealer,” they won’t be able to handle it, they will go totally crazy! All it means is adding an “N” (“National”) to “ICE (“Immigration and Customs Enforcement”) — A much more prestigious name. Everyone loves it, but I have been told by the legendary Tom Homan that the Agents do not love it as much as the other population. @GadSaad Interesting question! I think a fair ceiling should be around 50% to encourage growth while still funding necessary services.

One more thought about parasitic taxation and I'll head off for some exercising. What should be the maximal ceiling of your yearly income that the governments should be able to take? Is it 50%? 60%? 70%? 80%? 95%? What is the philosophical, moral, and ethical precept that guides your response? For example, if you were to say that a government must create equal wealth distribution across all citizens then the government could conceivably take 99.99% of a a very wealthy person's income to achieve that objective. So in your view, how much of your earnings does a government have a right to in a free society? I'm being genuine here. You don't need to insult me, attack me, etc. I'm interested in your responses.

@paulg Trust really does change the dynamics of teamwork. It’s amazing how much mental energy goes into second-guessing someone's intentions.

One reason it's more difficult to work with people you don't have faith in is simply that there are more possibilities to consider whenever they do something. You also have to consider all the ways they might have screwed up. Even if they didn't, you still have to think about it.

Gold and silver prices are falling. Q: Am I buying or selling? A: One mistake I have made (and I’ve made many) is letting price determine reasons to buy or sell any asset. I have learned to understand the “context” or the environment the asset is in….not the price. For example, if the price of real estate is crashing, I look at job growth, up or down, and area around the property. With gold and silver I watch our political and banking leaders. Are they solving the problems of the US and world economy or making things worse? I think our global lesders are incompetent only making things worse. So I am watching prices of gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereun on technical charts and will buy when prices reverse their decline. The technical charts on gold and silver show they are poised for a massive rise in prices. Please do not believe me. What do you think? What do you see? Take care. Exciting times.
