PS: No the cute sprite doesn't debunk anything guys, it's the information you get after talking to her that clarifies the heavier arguments against her back in ch4. Yes DR characters aren't perfect and nuance exists. This was addresing the more extreme stances at the time.

One of my favorite things about Deltarune chapter 5 is how easily it debunks the whole "Toriel is abusive" discourse from ch 4 within the literal first 5 minutes of playtime.

Oh shit this is blowing up. Context: Some weeks after CH4 release last year, people started theorizing about its ending, which escalated into some of them claiming Toriel was somehow secretly abusive in the form of neglect (kind of a stretch). Turns out it wasn't that serious.
