I think Eliot Anderson has decided on moving to Manchester City, who will now reach out to Nottingham Forest to find an agreement.
My understanding has always been that if Manchester United missed out on Eliot Anderson, they would go for Sandro Tonali, and the groundwork on the player side was already done weeks ago, he's open to the move, personal terms not a problem, but an agreement with Newcastle is needed.

Elliot Anderson prefers Man City, and Tchouameni isn't leaving Real Madrid.
Which leaves us realistically with Baleba, Ederson, and Tonali (not even too realistic) as we search for 2-3 midfielders.
I personally think we can do better than Ederson, but genuine question is, what other REALISTIC options do we have??

If Anderson’s move to City comes down to players desire, that’s an easy pill to swallow. But if it’s because United are unwilling to bid as high as City, as Laurie Whitwell is hinting, it shows the hierarchy have learnt nothing from the Declan Rice case. Letting a midfielder of that calibre slip through your fingers to a rival because of money could come back to haunt us. They better hope the players we choose end up just as impactful for us as Anderson ends up for City.
