The people I’ve met online are some of the most wonderful, interesting and brave people I know. And yes, I regard them as ‘real friends’.

Online, you meet people based on interests, not necessarily location, and that can make for a deeper, more meaningful connection.

If anything, some of the friends I’ve made online are more like me than many of the people I know ‘in real life’.

Just because you may not have met them face-to-face doesn’t mean they’re not real. It doesn’t mean you care about them any less.

It’s always struck me as odd how people don’t consider friends you make online to be ‘real friends’.
