That's probably the #1 or #2 selling point of Jurassic Park over any of the sequels. It's the only one where the dinosaurs look real. Like they actually made a dinosaur park in the 90s. Realism works. That's a big reason why I find Nolan's Batman trilogy so much better to rewatch than anything from the MCU. He tried to keep it looking like a real world instead of over the top villains with CGI or huge world stakes with buildings crumbling left and right like the Snyder movies.

Unless Vince is saving that 15 mil/episode budget for something big in season finale I'd say he just pissed those money away in the most boring way possible.

Kind of like that pluribus just farts around plot wise for a while. I’ve seen people complain about it but there’s something about “the end of the world” that if you were to survive would probably be boring as fuck after the novelty of total freedom wore off.
