It's beyond me why/how most airlines don't allow you to save passenger information in your account, and require giant forms to be filled every time. Like, it's not that my birth date is gonna change anytime soon.

@dvassallo It’s helpful to monitor, but sometimes in my WFH world there’s an unavoidable build from 500 to 1200ppm and I can’t always open the office door always with kids. Not sure the solution: carbon scrubbers are for spaceships and fish tanks, some kind of retrofit air handler maybe?

I can’t imagine working with 1300ppm CO2. At 1000 I already start to feel unwell. But I wouldn’t be surprised if many people are constantly at 2000+.

Is Black Friday still a big deal for folks? I scan deals for about 5 minutes, but can't remember seeing anything that looked impressive. Certainly nothing I went out of my way to buy. So, maybe a better question is "how is it still a big deal?"

@_joemag_ My gas water heater is actually a circuit of my boiler. The boiler power is hard wired into a water temperature cutoff unit (because of city codes), tempted to rework it as a plug I can move.

@thomas_cantrell Powering the gas water heater is most actionable. It only needs a few watts for the controller, and I even debated jerry rigging something during the outage, because having hot water would've been nice. I'm already pretty OCD about cars and gas (see my other tweets).

According to PSE, around 400k houses without power (including ours). First priority, are hospitals and critical infrastructure. For most, estimated power recovery on Saturday. Yikes.

@JakeHendy @chrismunns I have two setups at my home: a wireless playtronics for when I want to walk around, and a high quality mic for when I'm stationary. Range on the headset takes me to half of the house including the kitchen and fron door. Extra gear, but also some redundancy if anything acts up.

@chrismunns Do you ever take (informal) calls whilst walking around the house like to grab coffee or let a cat/dog in or even walk around your desk? I want to get something like this but like the idea of being able to move around a little

@chrismunns Good choice! I use the non-USB SM7B mic which has a similar profile. They're really good at removing background noise. Hopefully you have headphones, in-ears, or something like that you like so you're not on speaker. Don't want to ruin a great mic with echo cancelation!

@abbyfuller At least they didn’t call it a STEM activity! (STEM is good. But one daycare my oldest was at felt like they needed to have daily STEM activities for infants. A bit of a stretch.)

After having dreamed about it for about 10 years, yesterday I got the chance to see the IBM 1401 at @ComputerHistory! Bit of trivia: the museum is located at "1401 N. Shoreline Boulevard" in Mountain View!
