hanoitimes.vn/stop-blaming-t… "I tried reading through this year’s English exam. For someone like me – already in the workforce and using English regularly – it wasn’t impossible. A few words required more advanced vocabulary and some questions demanded careful reasoning, but overall it seemed reasonable, especially for a test meant to distinguish students applying for university." "A test that includes a range of difficulty levels – easy, moderate, and hard – shouldn’t be the scapegoat. After all, the high school graduation exam is not just about graduating. It also plays a role in university admissions, which makes differentiation essential. If the test were entirely easy, and everyone scored 9 or 10, how could universities select qualified candidates?" @ngahpham - above is a good opinion piece which is aligned with what I meant above

@meadey36 @ngahpham 😂 no, I just think a test should be challenging that few people should get 100% full score so that people could be graded accordingly, that’s all. If a non native speaker gets 100% or close to 100% it would be a great achievement!

🚨 Tariffs & Bitcoin Mining Hardware 🚨 Following up on the White House’s April 11th, 2025, update regarding tariff exceptions under EO 14257, let's dive into the implications for ASIC miners imported into the U.S. In 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) classified ASIC miners under HTSUS code 8543.70.9860 per ruling N297495. Despite attempts in 2019 and 2020 to appeal that classification, it remains unchanged. After the recent White House update, Compass Mining and our Strategic partner CM Global services have received numerous inquiries about HTSUS code 8471, which was included in the tariff exemption update, leading some to believe ASIC miners might be covered. To be clear, they are not covered. ASIC miners still fall under 8543.70.9860, and that classification was not included in the April 11th exceptions. As of today (April 15, 2025), ASIC miners face a 2.6% import duty under N297495, with additional tariffs of 25% and 125% for Chinese-origin goods, and 10% for other countries, effective retroactively to April 10, 2025. At Compass Mining, we’re dedicated to providing clear, proactive guidance to our partners, so please feel free to DM if you have any questions about tariff classifications or import procedures.

Visited Compass service center in Denver today. Processed 4k miners just last month, warehousing over 10k units today and have 1.5 MW to test all the machines. One of the biggest, tidy and neat repair centers I’ve visited. Thank you 🙌

Bitcoin is the foundation for a better economy, not a replacement for all investments and currencies. By fixing the capital misallocation caused by fiat inflation, it encourages longer-term thinking, better capital allocation, and productive industries. This would lead to falling asset prices (e.g., homes, real estate, goods) as Bitcoin replaces overpriced assets as a store of value. In parallel, technology and AI will also make goods cheaper, but fiat systems suppress these benefits through inflation. Also over time Bitcoin volatility will decrease, making it a more suitable long-term store of value. As the Bitcoin price becomes less volatile, surplus wealth will then flow into other areas, such as businesses, investments, innovation, experiences which helps to build a sustainable economy.

We've also seen a number of companies in the industry affected by this; some have even had shipments halted for more than two months with limited information. Hopefully, those affected can get more clarity soon.

SCOOP from @theMiningPod Officials are halting Bitmain units at U.S. ports, industry firms report The Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) is holding certain imports of @BITMAINtech Antminer ASICs at ports of entry to the United States, Blockspace has learned, from mulitple industry practitioners. The imports in question are for Bitmain’s Antminer S21 and T21 series, the latest series of ASIC miners from Bitmain. Sources claimed that the FCC and CBP are not targeting other ASIC manufacturers like MicroBT or Canaan. Beyond revealing that the FCC requested the freeze, the CBP did not provide a specific reason for the action, nor a timeline for how long it would hold the shipments, to the affected parties. link in reply 👇
