Again not saying this is happening or should just someone who loves time loop stories throwing concepts out I would personally enjoy and a way to explore darker moments without throwing away the lighter elements.

In that sense to use game metaphors it wouldn’t be so much over writing our current save file with a new one. But rather it existing as a save state to go back to with essentially a new game + buff

this isn’t a true theory more just a concept I like based on the rumors. A timeline “reset” where to prevent the calamities they do rewind to mc’s emergence in this timeline and things play out different but the end result is coming back to our current timeline to solve it.
