I have invested in Africa for four decades. I have seen it work with my own eyes. I have invested, successfully, in many African countries. My returns on capital employed in several of them, including the DRC, has been much higher than my returns were domestically. When Africa shrugs off the indigenous political elites (n the new colonialists) , the continent will prosper

🚨 Oil companies are not yet risking sending their tankers through the Strait of Hormuz — no one is testing how real the ceasefire actually is. The world’s main “oil chokepoint” has come to a standstill. Only a few dry cargo ships have managed to pass through. 🇮🇳🇵🇰 India and Pakistan had previously negotiated separate agreements with Iran for the passage of their oil tankers.

In response to wealth tax aimed at billionaires (California) and extra “millionaire income taxes” (Washington) … many of the wealthy are leaving. But now those same states are devising exit taxes. Even if you leave, they will still keep their hooks in you. Instead of trying to be competitive by lowering their taxes, the Blue states are trying to figure out how to take more after you have left.

Across the country, at least ten states, including Washington, are now exploring or have already passed an exit or wealth tax to combat revenue losses from residents fleeing to lower tax areas komonews.com/news/nation-wo…

Wow! @Starlink is now a new core product for a feisty cellular company! $50 per month all-in Starlink + all Cellular networks!
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

NEWS: US Mobile has announced that it is bundling @Starlink home internet with its unlimited wireless plans for under $50 a month. The deal includes uncapped Starlink internet and unlimited data on your choice of Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile’s networks, making it one of the most aggressive value plays from any carrier right now. "Every major terrestrial network on the ground, every major LEO constellation in the sky, stitched together into a single plan that follows you anywhere on earth. Mobile, home, roaming, residential. Local numbering integrated as we expand our cellular footprint into new countries. Dozens of networks, one plan, one app, one company that actually answers when you call. The Jetsons era isn't coming. It's here. And we intend to be the ones who carry you through it."

Canadian electricity generated from combustible fuels hit a new record in January. This despite widespread coal generation retirements and massive renewable capacity additions. Before this December, generation from combustibles hadn’t surpassed 14 TWh, let alone the >15 TWh it just reached. www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quoti…
