@FistedFoucault Completely destroyed his legacy, never seen someone so shameless in monetizing a funeral. It'd be more honest if she did porn, Only Funerals.

@GavMcCracken you see this over and over: "$400 million is not enough to worry about", huge some (X) is not enough to worry about, but it's the over and over again multiples that compound

@FistedFoucault 2013 when Edward Snowdon revealed the full extent to which the Patriot Act enabled mass surveillance. At first, people were shocked and outraged, but the outrage lasted only about six months maybe a year, until they shrugged and said, “Well, of course they are,” and moved on

Being in middle/high school in the '00s and discovering "real metal" and LARPing like Linkin Park and KoRn were "beneath you" is so cringe to remember because a lot of that mainstream stuff was more unique than the hundreds of identical underground bands you'd pretend to like
🌘ʀᴇᴠᴇɴᴀɴᴛ⚡@revenant_MMXX

For all the snobbery directed at nu-metal/alt-metal acts in the '00s, that was probably the last time anything remotely unique or interesting existed in mainstream music.

@transrepublic @FistedFoucault That is the copest cope I've ever seen typed and then posted in this website "Trump doesn't really want the SAVE Act passed, he wants little retired quarterback John Thune to keep pissing into his ear and tell him it's dew, MAGAts!"

You guys have had 10 YEARS to try and do the needful (capture the GOP and turn it into your own vehicle). Complete and total failure when you look at the situation today and realize that the mainstream GOP is still stronger than #MAGA (whatever that is now).
THE WORLD'S GREATEST DAD IN THE WORLD@The_WGD

MAGA needs to both understand where we are (just before the elbow in accelerating political/sectarian violence), and either persuade or replace the GOP that is unwilling to take decisive action.

I stand by my DD. I bought such an embarrassingly large amount of $LPTH at 12.40 on open it was stupid. Gonna go get drunk and not look at my account. Not even joking.
CryptoCondom@crypto_condom

Not many wanted to touch @intel when it was at book value of $18 2y ago. Meat of the move is done but everyone is horny at $80+. FWIW, IMO, $LPTH is where $INTC was 2y ago. It is my largest FA bet since Intel. The thesis is simple: Trump is nationalizing the supply chain of semis via $INTC just like he is for drones and drone components. $LAC, $INTC, etc....all the companies the gov took a stake in were for nationalization purposes against China Companies that are US based, with a US only means of production/patent, will continue to massively rerate. FWIW, my biggest bet after $INTC is $LPTH. TLDR: "exposure to OISL is just one vertical inside a wider defense and commercial turnaround story for Lightpath that is focused on domesticating the supply chain for critical infrared materials and taking market share away from traditional Germanium-based optics." 🍌

Banger post by OP. Worth the read to truly understand how serious today's events are to seizing defi markets.
monetsupply.eth@MonetSupply

with stablecoin markets beginning to become illiquid, the situation is now entering a more dangerous stage imo to break down the driving factors: the ETH market is ~16.5% backed by rsETH, and rsETH backed loans could see up to 10-15% haircut in emode if losses are socialized equally on mainnet & external chains, leaving 2-3% residual haircut for ETH suppliers after wiping out umbrella ETH suppliers are naturally incentivized to get out ASAP to avoid this, so utilization is pinned at 100%, and borrow rates are not high enough to incentivized repayment of unrelated LST loops (wstETH, weETH) to free up liquidity because it is impossible to withdraw ETH, users borrowing stables like USDT against ETH collateral cant unwind their position even when the rates for stablecoin borrowing start to spike, which severs the typical incentives scheme keeping these markets healthy now we have 2 unhealthy incentives based on the markets becoming locked at 100% utilization 1) ETH holders cannot unwind their positions to maintain healthy LTVs, and liquidators cant withdraw/sell collateral to close positions atomically, meaning that ETHUSD price drop could potentially cause bad debt 2) users supplying USDT have a perverse incentive to max-borrow other stablecoins as a way of exiting, the position has positive carry (for now) so the optionality has low cost, while if conditions worsen they can get at least 75% of their position value out of the market bottom line is, for these pooled/rehypothecated lending markets to function properly, liquidity must be preserved AT ALL COSTS. recent slope2 changes nerfing Aave's max borrow rates are having a negative effect and significantly increasing the risk of cascading market failure

The Laymans Take@thelaymanstake·
Here is the question that ends the UBI discussion. So if AI/robotics are going to create such abundance that people don't need to work and everything will be essentially free, then why do we even need UBI? Why can't people privately own and use these tools, as they already do now and control access to this limitless abundance themselves? Why does the government need to be in charge of distributing resources if they are cheaper, and more easily available than ever? This would be like arguing at the beginning of mechanised farming, that because one machine can do the work of 50 men that we need government to control the food stocks and distribute them because we don't all need to be farmers. The last thing cheaper more easily accessible resources demands in government control. UBI is the oligarchs last attempt to control access to technology that has the potential to free billions from their evil clutches.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

A very interesting post about what could have been but for the fertility collapse of France in thr 19th century. Related: I was driving with an army buddy through his home town of Montreal. He explained in the 1960s it was trending to be the continent’s largest city in by 1980.
Joan Larroumec@larroumecj

Many people are surprised that Howling Mutant turned out to be a handsome guy because of the character he portrays on this app. It should come as no surprise, as many creative types get all of their darkest/funniest/etc. thoughts out in writing (or typing), as Irvine Welsh said while describing himself.
