I'm interested in high attaining schools with 50+% PP students with a strong support in Music.
What is strong support?
At least one hour KS3 a week.
Regular performances in assemblies
Concerts
Musicals if poss.
Can anyone point me to schools where they do this?
@trebleteaching For some reason I have only just seen this related post trebleteaching.wordpress.com/2024/06/24/tre… - sorry! In it I particularly like the phrase "Consider what knowledge/skills/understanding you wish students to accrue. After you have decided, then select the genre(s) that will facilitate this" 👍
Since moving house, changing schools, having a baby, and expecting another, I have found it difficult to blog regularly. My new school requires a longer commute, which gives me time to reflect. So, I thought I’d start sharing some of those reflections.
