In this conversation, our field officer Jacob Chagi shares how tree planting is creating positive change through the Forest Gardens – Mount Elgon Region project in Uganda. 🇺🇬 The project introduces a Forest Garden agroforestry approach, where diverse tree species are integrated with crops to restore soil health, strengthen food systems, and create more resilient farms. Today, more than 700 farmers are using this approach to rebuild their landscapes while improving their livelihoods. Each tree planted contributes to long-term environmental restoration, with an estimated 50 kg of CO₂ captured per species, supporting verified climate impact alongside community benefits. As we continue to verify our projects on an annual basis, here’s an example of the progress achieved over five years at one of our planting sites in France.
 So far, we’re seeing strong positive results: vegetation vigor in the areas that were deforested in 2019 has increased by over 70% compared to the year before planting.
