The question they’ll be digging into: now that AI agents can help develop and troubleshoot complex systems, what does it actually take to get there? OTel foundations, data management, guardrails … the unglamorous work that makes the glamorous outcomes possible. Save your spot: leaddev.com/event/a-bluepr…

AI wrote the bug. AI needs to fix the bug. But first it needs to see the whole system and understand the bug.

Same vibe: teams spending hours tuning sampling rates, retention policies, and log filters, instead spending a few minutes setting up full stack session recordings. 👀

The hardest bugs to fix aren't the most complex. They're the bugs invisible to every tool you're *currently* using. 👀

Modern session recording tools have evolved beyond user analytics to become essential debugging and development platforms that capture complete request/response payloads, distributed traces, and frontend-backend correlations.

The teams moving fastest right now don’t have “better observability”, they are entirely rethinking their approach to system visibility.

AI agents need the complete execution context or they're just guessing. ✔️ Full user session ✔️ Full backend execution ✔️ Full external API exchanges ✔️ Already correlated

Observability was built on a flawed assumption: collect everything, sample aggressively, hope you caught the right 1%. But this approach breaks completely when an AI agent is the one doing the debugging.

AI agents need the complete execution context: what the user did, what the system sent and received, what external APIs returned, and how it all connects. The full runtime truth, automatically captured and correlated by session. That's what makes AI-assisted debugging actually work.

You can't debug what you can't see. Sounds obvious, but here's what's actually happening: developers are asking AI tools to fix production bugs based on sampled logs, redacted payloads, and traces that stop at the system boundary.

The result: during incidents, you're asking "Did anyone log the Stripe response?" instead of debugging. This is why tools that automatically correlate data matter. It’s a win-win for both convenience and reliability!

In practice: ‣ Developers forget to wrap new API calls ‣ Response logging gets skipped ("I'll add it later") ‣ One-off integrations never get instrumented ‣ Coverage degrades as the team focuses on shipping faster

The real question isn't "can you capture external API data?" It's "do you capture it reliably, or does it require manual discipline (that often breaks down)?" With custom logging, you CAN technically capture everything. BUT...

By the time you find out about an intermittent bug, the context is gone (sampled away or never captured)… or is it? 😇 Maybe you just don’t have the right tool to automatically record the full-stack, session-based context when the bug occurs.

The math doesn't work anymore when AI tools let you ship 5 variations of a feature in a day. By the time you've instrumented properly, you're already three deploys behind. Time to rethink the approach?

Observability practices assume you have time to: ‣ Plan instrumentation during design ‣ Add logging during development ‣ Review telemetry coverage before deploy

Quick question: How do you debug code you shipped three hours ago that was generated by AI, barely reviewed, and has no proper instrumentation?
