The database and reports by @airwars are by far the best resource for, well yes, air wars. And their findings (still ongoing) for Gaza are horrible. Details of direct attacks on mainly civilians and healthcare/food/aid targets which surpass any other conflict they cover.

1. @airwars has just released an important new report, covering October 2023 for the war in Gaza. Here is a tour of some of the tables and graphics.

And yet they refuse to feed their own people. The Ethiopian government forces the international community (@WFP_Ethiopia and @USAIDEthiopia) to feed millions of people on a monthly basis so that it can continue to gain money to fund its wars and megalomaniac building projects.
Office of the Prime Minister - Ethiopia@PMEthiopia

Did you know that in 2023/24, #Ethiopia's wheat production surged significantly? Smallholder farmers cultivated 3.6 million hectares, yielding 123 million quintals, while 2.9 million hectares of irrigated land produced 107.7 million quintals. Altogether, Ethiopia's wheat production reached 230 million quintals in this period. Compare this to the 2019/2020 period, when smallholder farmers produced just 54 million quintals of wheat. Today, that figure has soared—a remarkable leap made possible by steadfast leadership, enabling policies, and a relentless commitment to boosting productivity. #PMOEthiopia

#In_Pictures: #Axum_Massacre 4th year commemoration Residents of #Axum city in the #Tigray region gathered on Thursday for a somber remembrance of the Axum Massacre, four years after the tragic events in late November 2020. Families and survivors gather to honor the memory of hundreds of civilians who were executed by #Eritrean forces during the first month of the two-years brutal war in Tigray regional state. Human Rights Watch (HRW), Amnesty International (AI) and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC), among others, have all released reports on the massacre, shedding light on the level of atrocities committed in three successive days. The investigations revealed that Eritrean forces systematically killed hundreds of civilians in the city of Axum. The reports also documented widespread human rights abuses, including door-to-door executions in a deliberate targeting of unarmed residents. Through moments of grief, prayer, and silent resilience held on Thursday, survivors and residents of the city called for justice, and expressed their hope for peace and healing. In Tigray, rape is used as a silent weapon. A documentary in French and Tigrinya about sexual violence committed against an estimated 120.000 women and girls (5% of female population). Genocidal sexual violence that has been granted impunity until today. arte.tv/fr/videos/1206…

The Israeli army has erased 37 entire villages in South Lebanon & continues to drop 1-ton bombs on central Beirut. This must stop, as do Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli communities. Without a ceasefire, neither the Israeli nor the Lebanese IDPs will be able to return home. 2/2

Timely meeting of the Two-State Coalition for Israel & Palestine in Nicosia. Standing up for peace & justice takes courage, deserves respect & support. Their voices must be heard. We are at a critical juncture, as the reactions to the @IntlCrimCourt's decision illustrate. 1/5

Nowhere else on the planet are so many lives at stake as in Sudan today. In large parts of the country there is far too little aid, and far too little protection for civilians. The international community needs to recognise and react to the scale of this crisis:

Journalist's perspective of having to run from an incoming attack. Now imagine you have to evacuate your home while looking out for family. Gather essential belongings. Keep your children safe. Navigate the chaos while being distressed yourself. This is emotional warfare.
Sally Hayden@sallyhayd

For people asking about this yesterday: the Israeli evacuation warnings tell you to move at least 500 metres away from a strike site. We were (making pancakes) 300 metres away when we saw the warning. 1/ x.com/sallyhayd/stat…

Fleeing repression in Eritrea. Fleeing war in Tigray. Forced to relocate multiple times. Still under attack today. The life of Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia.
Addis Standard@addisstandard

Refugees in #Ethiopia’s #Amhara region call for relocation amid daily violence #Eritrean and #Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia’s conflict-ridden Amhara region are urging relocation, citing frequent attacks and deteriorating security conditions. Refugees at Alemwach camp in North Gondar, which hosts over 21,000 Eritreans, have reported incidents of robbery, kidnapping, and violence, with camp leaders noting at least nine fatalities in the past year. The Amhara region has faced militarized conflict since mid-2023, pitting government forces against non-state #Fano militias. Refugees allege that armed locals, including some assigned to guard camps, have regularly targeted them. According to one refugee at Alemwach, “There is no protection at all for the refugees,” as armed groups continue to enter camps unchecked. Humanitarian aid delivery has been disrupted due to insecurity, leaving camps with limited food supplies, inadequate sanitation, and restricted healthcare. Some refugees reported being confined to the camps unless they paid bribes, with conditions described as increasingly restrictive. In May, refugees protesting conditions at closed camps were subjected to further attacks. Leaders from the refugee community have appealed for relocation to safer areas. In a letter to UNHCR, representatives stated, “The surrounding area is a high-conflict zone, and the lives of refugees are in grave danger.” Advocacy groups, including Human Rights Watch, have called for urgent measures to protect refugees from violence and forced labor. thenewhumanitarian.org/news-feature/2…

The fight against impunity wherever crimes are committed is a priority for Belgium, which fully supports the work of the @IntlCrimCourt. Those responsible for crimes committed in #Israel and #Gaza must be prosecuted at the highest level, regardless of who committed them.
