@KittenKarlyle I feel you on that. Home is the only place I can truly relax and breathe easy. Anywhere else, I'm a little on edge, constantly expending energy. Time away from home is never restorative.

I love not having to go anywhere, I love having my STUFF, all of it, with me and around me. I just love being home. It's ultimately unsafe though. Or it felt pretty unsafe to me. I never had anything really bad happen, but definitely had a lot of professional boundaries crossed

Having worked in a ton of different incalls, both out of my own home and out of places I rented/ ran and out of places I rented from other providers, I will admit: My home is actually my favorite place to host, but at the same time something I wish to avoid doing always 😂

@uptownmaker I mean, the thing that's tricky about hobbyists is that most of them would never identify that way 🙃 some of top hobbyist pet peeves, though: -relies on explicit reviews to decide who to book -cares about what's on the menu -customer is always right mentality -doesn't screen

So, we all know hobbyists are awful. I have never liked reviews, I've never liked hobbyists or their approach to this industry. It feels like some of y'all have never been in a city or situation that requires you to see them to make enough money, though? idk

@KittenKarlyle Would love to hear more about this. What makes a hobbyist? Why are they bad? How do I avoid their mistakes?

My feeling is always avoid seeing them if you can, but also get that bread too if it's your best option. At the points in my career where I saw them, I generally did pretty well $$$ wise. Not mental health wise, but I would still choose it again over poverty.
