Let us begin with a simple but often overlooked truth:
Jesus Christ is not the Messiah for Jews, nor the Son of God for Muslims, nor the Savior for Buddhists, Hindus, or adherents of any other faith across the globe. 😅
Yet, somehow, every mention of Him outside one’s own framework provokes outrage, as if the very act of speaking His name differently were a crime. Even within Christianity, perspectives on Christ are manifold and sometimes divergent.
(I have learned this slowly myself. I once believed that every interpretation of Christ contrary to my own demanded defense, as though I were protecting Him from error. I was mistaken.)
Will Durant, a Catholic by upbringing, observes history with a keen, unflinching eye: power prevails, morality alone cannot shape outcomes.
Benjamin Netanyahu, quoting Durant, is invoking this historical-philosophical perspective, not making a theological claim.
But here is the enduring distinction:
Jesus Christ did not come to conquer history, nor to impose peace by force. He came to TRANSFORM it, to speak to hearts, to reshape consciences, to illuminate what true justice and peace require.
Yes, history shows us that morality alone cannot prevent conflict. Yet Christ’s lesson endures. Without MORALITY, what is called peace is nothing more than the shadow of power, hollow, fragile, and ultimately unsustainable.

Menachem Begin backed Bachir Gemayel for the presidency, hoping for peace with Lebanon.
Bachir, prioritizing his own ascent, pivoted from Christian rhetoric to the nationalist "10452 km²" slogan to broaden support.
The irony is delicious: the slogan now screams Bachir, is quoted by Hezbollah, and his daughter is playing it for political clout, promising to confront Israelis if the state is threatened.

How much of a retard do you have to be to say that war does not affect the rest of the nation? Constant wars always offset investments, tourism, there's pressure on real estate in non affected regions (prices are up), that's besides the fact that our taxes will be used to rebuild whatever Hezbollah ruined.

Even in light of Hezbollah's victories, the Lebanese petit-bourgeois still groans about "suicide missions" and "being dragged into war" (that usually doesn't affect them btw) because they fear the loss of the liberal-Western social-political order they materially benefit from
