@turo left me in a freezing car all night because they couldn’t find a tow truck in McLean. Are you kidding me? I wasn’t allowed to leave the vehicle and they had the nerve to charge me 260 to tow a defective vehicle.
@TheLemonheads@RoughTrade@firerecordings I can’t believe I took a train from DC to see this show tonight in Lancaster PA. I have an extra ticket if anyone wants it. I bought them ages ago. Because.
@EricLDaugh This kind of thinking is the cancer on our nation. Have you no shame? Do you have any sense that this is a family, a man and not a meme? Everyone on this thread, you don’t have to give up your politics, your identity to do the right thing.
@elonmusk Elon, your biggest ally on this is the left - project on government oversight. Career employees of agencies who are stuck with bad software built by consultants. Use your phone, find out.
@elonmusk@DOGE I support DOGE making sure every government program does the job assigned to it by law, and does it well. I support asking hard questions. Respect our civil servants. They know where the problems are. Avoid people who automatically validate your assumptions. Can the theater.
@elonmusk@DOGE I do know about ActBlue. I have never witnessed any corruption, but suspect they have the same risks as other payment processors - stripe, etc. They are used by labor and progrssives, which explains Tesla protests. Legitimate groups, free speech low fees and good engineers.
In chaos there is opportunity. We need to take a principled stand on good government. The debate about cuts or increases is a trap. We can all agree that outcomes matter. That’s a basis for everyone to get off their talking points.
As technology has become more hyperactive, we, the people have become more laid back; as the deposits in its bank have become more fat, the deposits of man’s memory bank have become more lean.
Like Harold Pinter’s servant, the machine has assumed the responsibilities that were once the master’s. The latter has become the shell of a once thoughtful, though indolent, being. It is the Law of Diminishing Enlightenment at work.

I'm maintaining a database of executive order rescissions by @realDonaldTrump. Some have been in place since 1965 and have very real consequences. I'm looking for non-partisan contributors to turn this into a public resource. DM me. #gid=478434786" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
I've created a spreadsheet tracking recessions of executive orders by Trump. I think the Johnson administration order of 1965, "Equal Opportunity Employment" is particularly curious. #gid=478434786" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
Instead of improving outcomes for students, here’s where taxpayer dollars were going:
- $4.6M contract to coordinate zoom and in-person meetings
- $3.0M contract to write a report that showed that prior reports were not utilized by schools
- $1.4M contract to physically observe mailing and clerical operations
🧵 Setting the record straight about IES and its contracts.
IES was founded in 2002 to “fund development and rigorous testing of new approaches for improving education outcomes for all students.”
