In my local hospital on my usual ward. It is supposed to be non covid. I have been here for three days. On the second day the lady next to me was diagnosed and moved out, yesterday, the whole rest of the ward (except me) was diagnosed and moved out. Just waiting now.... #COVID19

@GilmerHealthLaw This is a punch in stomach. I have felt this so many times in last year. I have been made to feel like a criminal suddenly because of changes in policy and I feel like my quality of life is not in the conversation. Something is going on and it is happening to a lot of us.

@piersmorgan One of the most distressing aspects of the pandemic has been the prevalence of ableist and eugenics thinking. How anyone can think a crude caricature of a disabled lady is acceptable is beyond the pale. It's sickening.

Sounds like new NHS reforms will be good. Taking decision making away from the CCG’s who can pick and choose what NICE rules to follow so doctors in hospitals can be told they can’t use the best treatments by CCG’s. The should be abolished. About time.@MattHancock

@chr0nicallycute These micro-humiliations is something we need to discuss, I can’t imagine how much worse it all is when you throw covid into the mix. The staff are even note over worked, even less sympathetic such a mess.

@chr0nicallycute I hate a&e I have a cvc line in now after having all of my intestines cut out so I don’t get those awful episodes of pain that you are describing but I used to have them a lot, left for hours in terrible pain by other ppl is harrowing

i had such a terrible experience last night with having to call 999 and i thought i would write a thread about it mostly to vent but also to inform people of why those with disabilities don’t always trust medical professionals (1/?)

I got assessed by occupational therapy yesterday, lots of the stuff made for disabled people assumes there is someone there to help. Or it helps one things but not another am finding it hard to get hel I trust in this pandemic. Eg. The chair to make things high is too heavy

I am going to start using account for my musings on disability and chronic illness, art, politics I was going to change my picture to make that more obvious but why should I? Disability is only part of who I am. I used to dress up like and mini drag queen too.
