Humans have conquered our planet. Being the most successful creatures that have existed when it comes to advancement of society. And its because our brain just happened to grow more complex. We are very curious. Curiosity has lead to every advancement we have made. Its the why, the what and the how. Most of our first questions when we are a kid is "why?" Its that very human drive to learn about the world. And the reality is. There's a lot we still dont know. And thats scary. Its uncertainty. Its doubt. It is fear. Which leads me back to religion. These are culture forming fables together to answer those fears. A face to the unknown. The "what" of happens to us when we die. The "why" of why we are here and our purpose. The "how" of it all came to be. Its to give comfort to that uncertainty. So that you dont have to think about it. The moment you realize it. Its very hard to look at religion any other way than a lie. Because it is. Its the most human a lie could ever be. Because "I don't know" can be the scariest thing to face down.
