We have all dealt with that colleague who dominates the room, dismisses ideas, and acts like the smartest person there. That's arrogance, but it does not have to ruin your day (I used to get affected a lot)... Stay professional, no matter what, and focus on the work, not the ego. It is natural to respond with sarcasm and push back aggressively, but that only fuels the fire. By the way, sometimes arrogance could be a sign of insecurity, and it does help when you respond with calm instead of frustration. Pick your battles wisely. Not every situation needs a fight. Some arguments are better avoided; some are better left alone. Most arrogant comments do not deserve a response. If your points hold weight, ask thoughtful questions to expose flaws politely. If you can, then find allies who support your argument and can pitch in your favor. If the arrogance persists, document the incidents and escalate responsibly when necessary. Arrogance does grab short-term attention, but respect and humility win in the long run. People collaborate with those who are respectful, humble, and easy to work with. When they see arrogant behavior, it is highly unlikely they will want to collaborate with that person on future projects. Your conduct will always carry you farther than sharp words. So, next time when someone is arrogant toward you at work, pause, respond with composure, and you may find the entire room shifts in your favor. Hope this helps.
