@wanerious
There are some things that are, according to a semi-rigorous definition, stupid.

Vance: I certainly think that in some cases it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality, to stick to matters of what going on in the Catholic Church and let the President to dictating American public policy

Rep. Andy Ogles on Eric Swalwell: "Let's hang him. Rapists should be hung, period."

His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (@Pontifex), I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran, and declare that the desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person. I wish you glory by Allah.

As a Catholic who’s been critical of Trump I find the outrage silly. The image is quite funny and the criticism of the pope, while it could be better framed, is not unreasonable. Leo has criticized Trump’s words and actions (as is his right). Trump has no duty to defer to him.

President Eisenhower in blooming White House Rose Garden with Dr. Jonas Salk, today 1955, celebrating success of new polio vaccine:

This will end well. Some genius in Trumpland decided, “Hey, the best thing we can do now is to go to war with the Holy Father.”

NEWS After 21 hours of negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Vice President JD Vance says a deal has not been reached. Vance said: “I think that's bad news for Iran, much more than it's bad news for the United States of America…they have chosen not to accept our terms.”

@ReichlinMelnick And you’re not ? Oh right, you haven’t lost a son or a sister to a murderous regime, so you’re fine with someone who’s mother is actively killing people in another country or Hitler’s grandson going to school with your daughter.

ICE arrested Eissa Seyed Hashemi, his wife Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son Seyed Mobin Hashemi in Los Angeles, California. Eissa Seyed Hashemi is the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, an Iranian regime politician who also acted as a spokesperson during the Iran hostage crisis of 1979. ICE law enforcement officers successfully apprehended all three individuals whose presence in the United States posed a clear threat to our national security and foreign policy. On September 1, 2014, Hashemi entered the U.S. at the San Francisco International Airport on a F-1 student visa. In 2016, Hashemi, his wife, and son became green card holders. It is a privilege to be granted a green card to live in the United States of America. If we have reason to believe a green card holder poses a threat to the U.S., the green card will be revoked. Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States will not be a safe haven for those who threaten our security or undermine our foreign policy.

“Merit drives promotion and opportunity. Not someone’s sex or race,” said Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward. “Today’s settlement proves this Department’s commitment to ensure companies are not using taxpayer funded work to further woke unconstitutional practices in American workplaces.”

The Trump administration on Thursday proposed weakening rules for the disposal of ash produced by burning coal that can contain hazardous heavy metals and contaminate groundwater. to.pbs.org/4tuWZc0
