“Living in the OC was tough as a young, Black, African kid. I was a token, a play thing, or something to be made fun of. I internalized a lot of that hatred, and it took me another decade to unlearn.” - Suzanne Mungalez #BlackOCArchive Click to Read: instagram.com/p/C_sefoWpbHa/…

those of us who are not yet dead must fight for death liberation. we must fight for a world where we all live, die, and grieve in more humane, free, conditions.

One thing a colonizer is gonna do is colonize. This book about a white american who joined the colonial Kenyan police reserve to fight the Land and Freedom Army (MAU MAU), is an example of that.

Gaza's archives are gone. These archives documented a history deeply rooted long before immigrants from Eastern Europe arrived in our country.
Birzeit University@BirzeitU

The Israeli occupation destroys the central archive of #Gaza municipality, executing thousands of historical documents, and deliberately razing all life forms; erasing the city and its #history. It is worth noting that the archive holds #documents more than a hundred years old.

Black people in Tunis, both Tunisian & non, have reported being scared to leave their homes following racist violence in recent days, while many associations have urged them to stay home for their safety. Here people cheer the anti-racism march underway from their balcony

Miriam Makeba performing in various spaces in Kenya. The photographs and their corresponding articles were taken from Jet magazine’s March 1968 issue. Much gratitude to @wangamiro for sharing these gems with me ✨
