Imagine a payment solution that lives inside @telegram. @israel_igboze and his team are building @gozendpay to help Nigerians hold funds in hard currency and off-ramp stables to naira, all from a single chat. Africa is building.

@web3boy_real I agree with this. It has certainly played out multiple times for me. I've gotten access to rooms I usually wouldn't. Great insight. I'm also glad to see that you make videos on X as well, I've anticipated this for a while, please make more!

Every product has an origin story. @israel_igboze walks through the journey of building @gozendpay — from idea to going live. The product launched early May and the story behind it is worth hearing.

A lot of people think networking is just attending events, snapping pictures, and exchanging numbers. No. That’s just an introduction. Real networking starts after the event. It’s in the follow-up messages.
 The random check-ins.
The “How can we collaborate?” conversations.
The opportunities you create together. In my opinion, the networking conversation is only complete when both of you have done business together, worked on something meaningful, or genuinely built trust. Don’t just collect contacts.
 > Build connections. > Build value.
> Build relationships. Because one strong relationship can change your life more than 100 saved numbers ever will.

the biggest misconception about networking: people think it's about meeting important people it's usually about consistently showing up until people remember your name

@sebastiansohn @UdousoBenjamin this is a really solid take. the whole "spend $50M and hope it works" model is clearly broken. indie devs building smaller, cheaper games that are actually fun could be the move. but do you think indie devs would even want to touch web3 right now given the reputation it has?

@UdousoBenjamin Court indie game devs. Make lots of smaller games rather than making one multi million game demo in 8 years. Indie game devs can make games that mesure in thoudands of dollars rather than millions of dollars.

@aniweebz @UdousoBenjamin this right here. too many projects launching half baked games just to get liquidity flowing. players can tell when a game was built to extract, not to entertain. what would you say is the biggest red flag that a project is heading that direction?

@NZeroG @UdousoBenjamin @splinterlands splinterlands really is the OG example of just sticking with it. 10 years is no joke. but do you think other teams even have the patience or the funding to do what splinterlands did?

@murtagh9050 @UdousoBenjamin 100%. if your game can't survive without token hype then it was never a real game to begin with. the web3 part should be a bonus, not the whole business model. do you know any games actually pulling this off right now?

@UdousoBenjamin Of course. They key is to treat your game like it's web2. Act as if it won't succeed unless you can generate revenue in the same way web2 does. Don't depend on Web3 revenue to fund your game.

@junkwarsgame @UdousoBenjamin this is one of the more thought out takes I've seen on this. the idea that web3 should only handle asset ownership while the game itself just focuses on being fun is something more devs need to hear. are you guys building Junkwars with that kind of approach?

I believe web3 gaming can be saved... One of the core problem is the focus on money... Games should focus on being a game... The part of web3 should only be used for making assets tradeable... Game devs should not be able to create game items... Only players... Every item should have an equivalent time spent in value... If a game is not competitve or people have no reason to progress, the game becomes a farming game. (farming for resources to sell to others). And eventually collapse. A game must be fun, competitive and has an enjoyable progressive loop... Without that, the economics will collapse... And also non-greedy founders would help a lot too...

@PiusX194023 @UdousoBenjamin 2023 was a different time for real. the hype was something else. but do you think that era was actually sustainable or was it just vibes and speculation carrying everything?

interesting comparison. so basically let a hundred games launch, most die, and the few that are actually good survive on merit? that's how web2 did it for real. the question is whether web3 can handle that kind of natural selection when everyone expects token returns from day one. what do you think?

@UdousoBenjamin same way web 2 gaming got fixed. For every 100 games released, 1-3 will be so close to greatness the devs can taste it...1 will survive for a bit.
