@willgu05 @Groves23Groves @GuernseyFC @PT_FC All other games they had weeks if not months of notice. This one they were given 48hrs over a bank holiday when the airlines offices were closed. If Peacehaven had been prepared to fly out of Southampton as offered the match would be tomorrow as scheduled.

It’s literally in their agreement to be in the league Paul. Know your facts before commenting, they have done it all year round and failed to do so this time. Bank holiday or not. The league already pushed the playoffs back a week for them. Should have been prepared for it bank holiday or not.

@Groves23Groves @GuernseyFC @PT_FC And how were they supposed to book those flights over a bank holiday weekend? Results weren’t known until gone 5pm on the Saturday and you can’t book groups of that size online. No way to know which way flights were going to be needed, if at all, so it’s a ridiculous statement.

No one’s denying Guernsey earned home advantage. The issue is the way the situation has been handled around it. There’s a difference between respecting sporting merit and creating circumstances where one team goes into a playoff match after three weeks without a game while the other stays match sharp. At that point, the integrity of the competition is affected either way.

@BillyWood__ Absolutely nothing disgraceful about it. Guernsey earned home advantage, they get home advantage. The disgrace would’ve been moving the playoffs to the mainland, trampling on sporting merit and integrity.

Sorry this is a DISGRACE Playing a play off final 3 weeks late because the hosts couldn’t do what’s required, the playoff dates were already pushed a week to accommodate Players get certain time between end of season til pre season to go on holiday, have family time and most because the season is expected to actually end first bank holiday in May will have things booked up End of the day, if Guernsey didn’t have the 25 flights held for the final then they should be expected to play at the reverse stadium on the date of the game being scheduled This isn’t a knock on the club, I believe Tony Vance is one of the best managers at this and the level and above, but anyone in this situation should be prepared or sadly lose the advantage, it’s the awkwardness of having the isle teams in these leagues sadly 🤷‍♂️

It's a wonderful start for Liverpool, and another slow one from Chelsea. Ryan Gravenberch fires past Filip Jorgensen, and Arne Slot's side lead. 🎥 @footballontnt

Hard not to feel this situation has been completely unfair on Peacehaven. To be fair to Guernsey, it was also unfair on them after earning home advantage only for the original fixture to be moved away from the island. However, after days of uncertainty over travel logistics - which Guernsey should have been able to provide under the requirements of being in the league - Peacehaven have now effectively been forced into playing the fixture in Guernsey three weeks after their last competitive game. Meanwhile, Guernsey still have a cup fixture next weekend which, in theory, should be moved if league fixtures take priority. Instead, one side stays match sharp while the other heads into a huge game after nearly a month without football. At this level, where players have jobs, holidays booked, and many expected to already be in the off-season by now, that is a massive disadvantage. This whole situation should have been handled far better by the league from the start. @TheSCFL do better!

Peacehaven & Telscombe Football Club
Our play-off fixture scheduled for this Sunday will no longer be going ahead as planned. Guernsey FC explored several options to fly our team out and back; however, these involved multiple flights and different airport locations making the arrangements unfeasible. The Southern Combination Football League (SCFL) has confirmed that the match will now be played on the mainland, either on Tuesday 12th or Wednesday 13th. The venue is yet to be confirmed. Guernsey now have 48 hours to either arrange suitable travel around these revised dates or exercise their right to appeal to The FA.

The facts must be stated, why weren’t the flights booked in advance when one of the directors is actually involved in the airline? Did they assume HHTFC would beat @PT_FC and took a risk? Can you really expect a team to fly different days at different times why should Peacehaven be of a disadvantage? What don’t help is they have their “independence day” and the Murretti cup the week after, for Peacehaven to be slandered on here ain’t fair. Blame the person in charge of logistics?

@GuernseyFC @TheSCFL Shocking decision. @TheSCFL is a disgrace to non league football. Change the rules to suit themselves, perhaps there are Peacehaven supporters on the SCFL board. Embarrassing.

We’re extremely disappointed to share @TheSCFL decision to move the play-off final to the mainland. Our concern is for supporters who have already made travel arrangements. Home advantage was earned on merit and is not a position the Club accepts. More: guernseyfc.com

@willgu05 @thenonleagues @PT_FC @NonLeague_SSX It’s not Guernsey’s fault that they were allowed to be in the league, and every team agreed to it. It’s more than reasonable to move the date to one that works, even if it is later on. They shouldn’t be taking home advantage away.
