@JeffTalksAs Wynns should’ve been DFA’d 10 games ago and Serven should’ve been called up. Knowing Shea is going to go on paternity leave and not preparing for it by thinking Wynns is going to replace him while he’s gone is such shitty managing. Cortes should be playing over Gelof.

@uprootedoakland @hcse6134 He’s not on the 40 man because we don’t have the balls to DFA atrocious bullpen arms who have had way too many chances to try someone out in Triple A. You’re right, there aren’t a ton of great options currently on the 40 man. But that could change if they DFA’d some guys.

@xHalfMoon2 @hcse6134 It comes down to the same question with Kotsay’s bullpen decisions: who would you have put in instead? Tur isn’t on the 40-man, so an unlikely addition at this point (and likely not Kotsay’s choice anyways). Morales is essentially the designated long man.

Down 4 runs isn’t necessarily the lowest of leverage with an offense that’s putting up 10+ hits consistently every game. We’re always in games with our offense. Yunior Tur is having a good start in AAA, give him a shot.

@uprootedoakland Gelof is 2-14 vs LHP and was 3-25 against LHP last year. Gelof/Thomas should be the players the come in later in the game if needed and Cortes should be an everyday starter right now. There’s no other way around it.

@xHalfMoon2 I think Gelof has earned a look, especially against lefties. Cortes looked pretty overpowered when he started against a lefty the other day, which probably made Kotsay hesitant. It's a balance. Cortes probably should have been used as a PH earlier, though.

@xHalfMoon2 I'm not entirely sure what the obsession has been with skipping rehab assignments. Both Rooker and Butler have struggled mightily as a result of just being thrown into the mix right out of injury.
