My initial thought when reading your job posting shouldn’t be “damn are you looking to hire a person or a whole department?”

I just LOVE getting a response from a candidate saying we spammed them and that we would never be interesting enough to be considered. Ummmm. You applied to the job.

So next time when meeting someone new, don’t ask what they do for a living - that’s you putting their worth tied to their job. Ask them about a random fun fact they know or any new shows they watch. Get to know the whole person and not just what job title they have.

HR now more than ever is in the position to help leaders see that we are whole and can still exceed business goals showing up as a whole person. #hrcommunity #employeeexperience

My #1 favorite #hr lesson from @Disney’s @EncantoMovie is that we are not our jobs. At the end of the movie and at the end of the day we see that the #Encanto family are more than their gifts just like each of us is more than our jobs or job titles.

@selfientdavid Absolutely. We need remember that work is not everything and that most people just work to live and not live to work. I hate this illusion some recruiters have that we have to be cult followers of a company in order to qualify.

@yourHRsource Stop asking any loaded questions in interviews. Stop it. Right now. Just have a conversation with someone. Stop making them audition. It is beneath you and your company...well at least it is beneath you
