The most underrated skill is.. how to manage and regulate your emotions.. How do we learn these? Any thoughts ?

My granddad 80 yro got admitted in hospital, originally he was a football player.. He was healthy in his young time, thus he lives for 80 yrs, but with so much complications. This puts a question in me, should we be healthy in young age and live for long (with many complications) or live freely and die at 50 or 60(without much complications) ? 🤔
