@HeWasRubbish TBF Ince was excellent given a proper run of games. I'd have him over most of our 11 right now. Never let us down. Exactly the type of player (but younger) we need in.

I think "championship experience" is horeshit. We need some serious characters that lead on the pitch and know how to win. Doesn't matter what league or what nationality. Ince has loads of Championship experience!

@LeonardSm4lls @louorns We can't just expect Pozzos to keep throwing money (we don't have) at all transfer windows. The squad was good, the summer recruitment excellent, the loans were working well. Injuries struck, Javi got bored.

Understand former Sunderland assistant and long term assistant of Stefano Pioli, Luciano Vulcano, was at the training ground last week to speak to Gino Pozzo about joining the club. Watford have also held brief talks with Stefano Pioli as well

@LeonardSm4lls @louorns Injuries, injuries, injuries... and the appointment of a PE teacher. We were on the right trajectory until we lost all our width, pace and defensive talent.

@1AndrewMitchell @louorns We aren’t a football club anymore, we are an asset trading vehicle set up to the benefit of 2-3 individuals and that is it. If sat 4th at the start of January and how that window panned out, didn’t affirm that for you, I’m lost.

@LeonardSm4lls @louorns That's not how supporting a football club - through the highs and lows - works. You can't take the good stuff, and walk away when it gets bad. Watford has always been a rollercoaster. I will say it again, my favourite season as a Watford fan was when we were in League One.

@louorns Does it really matter though? The best thing the fanbase can do, and in particular all of the podcasts and media etc do, is completely ignore any appointment and don’t engage with the club. Whoever it is will be gone by October, so make a point.

With Louza leaving and midfielders certainly needed + the club seemingly wanting Championship experienced players. Oxford’s Brian De Keersmaecker would be right at the top of my list. Potentially could be too pricey for us but would be a smart pickup

@louorns I'm a massive advocate of the approach Joka and Silva took --- and in all honesty, I'd rather we drop down a division into League One to ensure we discover it rather than push to go up playing direct attritional football. TBF I don't under Pozzo - Zola to Ivic makes 0 sense.

I have a question. Do you think Watford should only play a style of football that is a variation of GT/Boothroyd/QSF/first stint Javi. Or do you think it should be more Zola/Joka/Silva — or don’t you care? I genuinely believe in club DNA so am curious

@1AndrewMitchell @louorns Gino has been involved in all their clubs . I believe it was Gino who did a lot of the work setting up the scouting network.

I thought this hire & the Cleverley one would be ones where both, in theory, should work; but haven’t at all. TC knew the club and Ed was someone known to Bayat. But it’s clear we need a full reset this summer. Gino has an easy win here of getting rid of everyone including Scott

@louorns Yes the fact that Udinese are relatively well run makes our situation worse. He obviously has some knowledge and experience of running a club successfully, which suggests he simply doesn't give a shit about the mess at Watford and has no intention of fixing it.

@WatfordSam @louorns @Richwfc2 Players responsible. Deeney and Foster said it last week on a podcast that the overseas players just give up - happened in the PL too. Deeney named Capoue who dropped the intensity the minute we were safe in the PL in January.

@louorns @Richwfc2 Lack of investment, arrogance, ignorance and naivety from the owner. Every January teams in those positions strengthen. Every January, we don’t. We just get the Duxbury spin of “we believe in this squad” or a Mogi Bayat special. It’s the definition of insanity.

Since our first season back in the Champ in 22/23. After 28 games (roughly when Jan window closes) — we’ve been 3rd, 9th, 8th, 6th. Either in the playoffs or at max 3 points off. After Jan window closes; the final 18 games — 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 21st It’s extraordinary

@Ngonge69JOHN @watfordspeak Aye, but we have had a greater share of long term injuries to key players at the wrong time. Our recruitment in the summer was excellent and relatively deep. We can't foresee losing all widemen at the same time. Jan was short but that was JG's fault.

Where do we stand with Still then? 9 played 3 wins 3 draws 3 losses 12 scored 12 conceded 2 clean sheets Think he’s coached some strong performances and also some shockers, like today. A bit indifferent for me. Be interesting to see what happens with a full pre season

@watfordspeak It's very simple, it's not the manager that's the issue. We have a bang average squad performing...averagely. Recruitment has been poor from an ownership that is...poor.

@WatfordPod @kieren_rees Playing devil's advocate, it was Javi who rejected the options put to him (not the board unwilling to sign one), but noone will have foreseen the injury crisis (and it is a crisis) we are currently seeing.

@louorns @realmattdw @BaitVic I agree, but there's also a lack of protection afforded by refs. Maamma and Baah were on the end of some brutal challenges and both Giorgi and Louza have had similar treatment from teams.

Well played to Duxbury and Co for successfully gaslighting a large section of the fanbase into thinking this was a promotion challenging squad and then getting people to blame all the different coaches. Have to grudgingly admire it! #watfordfc

@realmattdw @louorns @BaitVic TBF Matt, I don't think our squad is top 6 strong for the Championship due to the lack of a proper experienced #9 - however IF we were to hold a sale tomorrow, we'd get £100m in sales easy for 4-5 players

@louorns @realmattdw @BaitVic Can I add that we have no Vata, Kyps, Alleyne, Maamma, Baah, Pollock, Ngakia at the moment? Few teams can absorb that level of player out injured. Our entire width sidelined.
