You’re Thai… shouldn’t you already know that yes, we treat queer people like normal people. In thailand, most of us grow up around queer folks. They’re our friends, coworkers, siblings, the people we hang out with every day. We don’t see them as some separate group. They’re just… people. And like everyone else, some are sweet, some are annoying but none of that has anything to do with their sexuality. If someone screws up, we’re mad because they messed up, not because they’re queer. We don’t blame their identity for their behavior. We don’t look at queer people and think they don’t deserve happiness. We don’t think their joy needs “permission.” They deserve love, success, stability, and peace the same way anyone else does. We judge them by their choices, not by who they love. Seeing queer people as people isn’t a big moral achievement for us. it’s just common sense. At least, that’s how it should be, and that’s the standard we need to keep pushing for.
