Jose Espinal of South Garner High School has been named the Wake County school system’s 2025-26 Assistant Principal of the Year. It’s the 2nd time Espinal has won the award. Espinal also won it in 2017 when he was at Enloe High School. #wcpss #nced

Mariah Walker of Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy has been named the Wake County school system’s 2025-26 Principal of the Year. It’s the 3rd time Walker had been an award finalist. Walker will represent Wake in the North Carolina Principal of the Year program. #wcpss #nced

The Annual Celebration of the YMCA of the Triangle was a great event tonight. I can’t say enough about the support they provide to students in the Triangle. A special thanks to Bubba Rawl & Tim Smith who received the Lifetime Impact Award. Great sharing this event with Dr. Rangel of WCPSS and Dr. Jones Superintendent of Orange County.
