Yesterday, I taught our #newcomers how to create a timeline to keep track of the main events in the story — our read aloud picture book was Show Way. This morning, as I’m grading their work, I can’t help but smile at their amazing work. I’m confident it’s a skill they now OWN!

I refuse to believe that “writing domain” is “the last to develop” for MLs 🤔 With a comfortable environment, scaffoldings, comprehensive input, compelling text, interaction with the text, discussions, intentional support, groups, repetition, & teacher feedback…they CAN write!
