For years, we have been robbed blind by criminals who have infiltrated our country - grand theft that continues to this day. And it's being paid for with *your* tax dollars. Whether you are a conservative who is concerned about fiscal discipline in government, a liberal who cares about the efficacy of public assistance programs, or someone in the middle who just wants government to work, this report will make you incredibly angry. A high-trust society based on hard work, honesty, and equal justice under law cannot abide the rampant infusion of immigrants from low-trust cultures in which crime, corruption, and inequality reign. The United States is being systematically bankrupted by bad actors who have come here with zero intention of working hard to live their version of the American Dream but rather have figured out how to exploit the goodness of the American People to drain our country dry. Since returning to the Legislature 17 months ago, I have been tackling elements of Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse: -House Bill 356, enacted in House Bill 96, the state operating budget, mandated an audit by the @OhioAuditor of the Aged, Blind, Disabled population of Medicaid after my office identified evidence of rampant fraud in the asset verification process. This audit continues and we anticipate a report in the near future. -House Bill 683, which would grant the @OhioIG law enforcement authority when acting within the scope of its statutory duties, responds to ongoing instances of fraudulent activity by individuals and vendors operating under the state watchdog’s jurisdiction. This legislation is pending in the House Public Safety Committee. -House Bill 645, would require Ohio, starting with the next budget and every ten years thereafter, to employ zero-based budgeting in the development of the state operating budget. Whether in Medicaid or other state agencies, it is clear greater justification for how public money is spent is needed immediately. As Vice Chairman of the House Finance Committee, I will not rest until we have taken appropriate action to address the outrageous violations of public trust that are occurring daily in @OhioMedicaid. Whether through subpoenas, oversight hearings, and/or legislative action, we will stop the bleeding.
