AFSA Member Companies were pleased to sit down with Members of Congress to discuss the harm that predatory credit repair and debt settlement are creating for consumers, as well as the crucial role consumer lending and finance plays in the US economy.

AFSA is grateful for the opportunity to be welcomed at the White House for discussions on consumer affordability, the evolving role of the CFPB, and how America’s consumer credit industry is helping fuel the US economy.

AFSA Members were grateful to meet with Representative McBride’s office to discuss the bipartisan Ending Scam Credit Repair Act (ESCRA)(H.R. 306) to curb deceptive practices in the credit repair industry, and policies that can truly help consumers during uncertain financial times.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming 2025-26 AFSA Chairman, Kevin Cullum to our Washington D.C. office! Cullum currently serves as the President of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), and oversees general and daily operations. Prior to joining Nissan, Cullum spent 16 years at Ford Motor Credit Company. It is always a treat to host our members to discuss what the future holds and how we can continue improving consumers' access to credit.
