This is a narrative shift in real time. The group was a Pro Palestinian group from 2023 right up until it was reframed as a Pro Iran group after the Stryker cyber attack last week. They speak Arabic not Farsi. Would love to see any evidence linking this group to the Styler attack.

Massive tech programs and platforms take time and money to build, and time and money to decommission. Strategic changes in capabilities do not occur overnight. The long-term plan enacted was the best choice for the country, despite the temporary pain and costs associated with cancelling a capability overly influenced by ideology rather than objective performance and utility.

Been there. While they are loitering around the high achievers being orbiters, barely keeping up, the top performers are running and never look back. The problem is that in politics these types survive by controlling information and have no skills to make themselves of value to the government. I would guess that 2/10 government employees and political appointees fall into this category. Their survival skills are complaining and tattling. Don’t get me wrong - it’s the same at many large established corporations.

Opinions are like … everyone has one: I respect, admire, and like Joe Kent. I can relate to his situation on both professional and personal levels. I believe he would have had more political impact if he had submitted a dry, opaque professional resignation letter and unexpectedly vacated the position. A person accepts a political appointment, and that style of exit is not in the nature of political appointee service. The rumor mill is one of the most deadly and effective tactics in DC, and there is nothing like leaving a letter on your desk w/ID badge at 2:30 on a Monday to get it swirling. Every man has to live his own life. Joe you will continue to do great things. I respect your decision-making. Godspeed.

If you want to harden your Mac’s network security and block common attack paths like SMB, NetBIOS, AirDrop, and hidden peer-to-peer radios without breaking your internet or virtual machines, follow this step-by-step. First, open Terminal. Click the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your screen, type “Terminal”, and press enter. A black window will open; this is where you will paste the command. Now copy and paste this entire command into Terminal, then press enter (below). WARNING: When prompted, type your Mac password; you will not see the characters as you type, this is normal; then press enter again: sudo bash -c 'set -eo pipefail; ANCHOR="/etc/pf.anchors/macos_firewall_hardening"; PFCONF="/etc/pf.conf"; PLIST="/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macos.firewall.hardening.plist"; echo "Configuring firewall..."; cat > "$ANCHOR" <> "$PFCONF"; pfctl -a macos_firewall_hardening -f "$ANCHOR"; pfctl -f "$PFCONF"; pfctl -e 2>/dev/null || true; defaults -currentHost write com.apple.coreservices.useractivityd ActivityAdvertisingAllowed -bool false; defaults -currentHost write com.apple.coreservices.useractivityd ActivityReceivingAllowed -bool false; killall useractivityd 2>/dev/null || true; defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser DisableAirDrop -bool true; killall Finder 2>/dev/null || true; for app in com.apple.Terminal com.apple.Console com.apple.Automator com.apple.Shortcuts; do tccutil reset AppleEvents "$app" 2>/dev/null || true; tccutil reset Accessibility "$app" 2>/dev/null || true; done; cat > "$PLIST" < apple.com/DTDs/PropertyL…"> Labelcom.macos.firewall.hardeningProgramArguments/sbin/pfctl-f$PFCONFRunAtLoadKeepAlive PLIST chmod 644 "$PLIST"; chown root:wheel "$PLIST"; launchctl load -w "$PLIST" 2>/dev/null || true; echo "Done. Firewall hardened, SMB/NetBIOS blocked, AirDrop and tracking features disabled, settings persist after reboot.”' (Do not copy this and copy through the marks above) That’s it. Your Mac is now hardened. What this does: blocks SMB and NetBIOS file sharing attack paths, disables AirDrop and Apple peer-to-peer radios, blocks Bonjour discovery used for lateral movement, closes AirPlay-related ports, and enforces everything at the firewall level so it persists after reboot. Pros: strong security improvement; reduced attack surface; persistent protection; no impact to normal internet or virtual machines. Cons: local network discovery like printers or file sharing may stop working; AirDrop and screen sharing will be disabled.

@Mbk02855177 Did you see the Ubuntu unmatchable ARM zero day news? Oops. I like some Linux OS. A bit more fiddling. Can’t beat the price and customization.

Not my style. I also like them despite our political differences. The same thing happened on the MAGA side. I myself had been anti war over the past few years broadly speaking. War is an awful business. The public communication related to the rationale for the war has been difficult to follow.. I decided independently that the War in Iran was ultimately inevitable and now was a good as time as any to act based on the lack of quantifiable diplomatic progress and my personal experience/knowledge.

It’s wild to see all the influencers on the left that were hawks for the past six years suddenly become antiwar. People change which is normal, but it’s strange when it’s an instant 180 in beliefs systemically along political affiliation.

@JC1010679150091 Why not? How is it different than Stackoverflow or Git? @grok is this terminal/ bash code accurate? What does it do? Do people ever post bad advice or code on forums that beginners use like Git or stackoverflow?

.@MarkWarner’s false narrative on ODNI’s election security authorities collapsed under the FACTS:  @DNIGabbard: “Congress provided by statute ODNI with the responsibility of election security and counterintelligence in 2021… ODNI also has purview and overview over two domestic-related agencies, @DHSgov and @FBI, both of which have purview over election security responsibilities to ensure the INTEGRITY of our elections.”
