The London edition of our CEO's Global Engagement Series brought @alu_alumni from Cambridge, Exeter, Birmingham, Derby, Brighton, and London into the same room, not only to reconnect, but to engage more seriously with what comes next for ALU and its community. Across generations and sectors, the conversation was grounded and direct. Alumni shared real experiences, challenged ideas, and began to identify practical ways to work together, from early-stage partnerships to the foundations of new alumni chapters. These were conversations that carried beyond the room. What emerged was a clear reflection of ALU’s model in practice. Purpose-led learning, combined with hands-on experience, continues to shape leaders who move beyond ideas and into execution. There was a strong sense of direction for what comes next, alongside a shared commitment to continue building a community of leaders equipped to take on complex, global challenges. This was not just a moment of reconnection. It was a step forward, shaped by ALUmni who are actively contributing to ALU’s next chapter through their perspective, engagement, and action. #ALU #ALUmni #ALUCommunity #GlobalEngagement #Leadership #AfricanLeadership #FutureLeaders #AlumniNetwork #GlobalLeaders #Collaboration #NextGenLeaders #HigherEducation #Diaspora #UK #Impact

An evening of stories, smiles, and shared journeys. In Lagos, the Parents and Alumni (@alu_alumni) Dinner brought together members of the ALU community for a truly special evening, one filled with laughter, reflection, and meaningful connection. With our CEO, Sidee Dlamini and Senior Leadership Team present, the night became more than a gathering; it was a moment of alignment, celebration, and shared vision for the future. From parents witnessing the transformation of their children, to alumni reflecting on their journeys and impact, every conversation reinforced the strength of the ALU network and the power of community. It wasn’t just a dinner, it was a reminder that every journey here leaves a mark, and every connection continues to shape what comes next. @alu_alumni #ALU #ALUFamily #LegacyInAction #ConnectingGenerations #Lagos #Leadership

It’s an opportunity for parents to engage with the ALU experience, understand the learning model, and gain insight into the journey their children are about to embark on. A powerful start to a historic milestone. BIMUN Rwanda 2026 opened with an inspiring plenary session at the African Leadership University, convening distinguished voices from the diplomatic community, international organizations, and across Africa’s leadership landscape. Last Friday, our community came together to commemorate the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. With 258 in-person and 88 online, students, alumni, parents, and staff gathered to reflect and share responsibility, honoring memory while confronting the work of reconciliation. We were deeply honored to host Dr. Rev. Antoine, whose lived experience and longstanding commitment to reconciliation made him a profound voice for our community. His reflections on emotional intelligence and self-awareness challenged us to begin within, recognizing that healing is both personal and generational. Our Dean Elizabeth, reminded us to carry gratitude, even against all odds, for who we are, and for the responsibility we hold in shaping what comes next. We also extend sincere appreciation to our official Kwibuka Host, Kagenza Sakufi Rumonji, whose thoughtful and steady presence helped hold the space with the dignity and care the moment called for. At ALU, Kwibuka 32 is not only a moment of remembrance, it is a call to leadership. A call to reflect deeply, to lead ethically, and to actively build a future where such history is never repeated. We are grateful to the ALU Community for this demonstration of humanity, and especially to Dr. Rev. Antoine for guiding this important conversation. #Kwibuka32 #ALUCommunity #NeverAgain #Leadership #Reconciliation

Yesterday at Ntarama, we reflected on Rwanda’s history and the chain of events that led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Ntarama Memorial Site, originally a Catholic Church before 1994, became a crime scene during the genocide and was later preserved as a memorial to honor the 5,000 victims who lost their lives inside the church and on its grounds. We sat with the weight of the darkness that defined those 100 days, at Ntarama and across the country, while also hearing stories of resilience, hope, and the shared promise: Never Again. We are grateful to the teams and individuals who made time, adjusted schedules, and showed up with intention to be part of this experience. Special mention to the Government Relations and External Affairs team and the Kwibuka Planning Committee, who thoughtfully made this possible. #ALU #LeadershipInAction #Kwibuka32 #InRememberance #NeverAgain

Today, we join Rwanda and the world in marking Kwibuka 32, a time to remember the lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. At ALU, we hold this moment with deep respect and reflection. We remember not only through words, but through how we choose to lead, to learn, and to stand for humanity every day. Remembrance is a responsibility we carry forward in our learning labs, our global learning experiences, our communities, and in the futures we are shaping. #Kwibuka32 #RememberUniteRenew #ALU

As we close out this International Women's Month, we leave you with words that truly matter from our CEO, Sidee Dlamini, as she reminds us of a simple but powerful truth, that women can do so much more when they work together. Sidee opens up about the women who played a key role in her own development, the mentors who lifted her up and helped shape the leader she is today. And now, she's paying it forward, championing mentorship as one of the most powerful tools women have to empower one another. Her message is clear, lift as you climb. Mentor the women you meet. Because when one woman rises, she has the power to bring many with her. At ALU, this is not just a message for International Women's Month. It is a value we live every single day. Watch Sidee's full message and let it inspire your next step. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #SideeDlamini #EmpowerWomen #ALU #WomenInLeadership #SideeDlamini #MentorHer #LiftAsYouClimb #LeadFromAfrica #WomenWhoLead

It is inspiring to see African Leadership University (ALU) alumni thriving and returning to give back through impactful initiatives. Led by Olexa Heshima (Founder, YTS: WTO Young Trade Leader 2025), we are proud of her global recognition and leadership in bringing the Young Trade Society (YTS) community to ALU through the Trade Policy and Development Workshop. The session brought together alumni leadership, faculty collaboration, and strong student engagement to explore Africa’s trade future. We were also privileged to have contributions from Richard Dadja Anadi (Senior Investment Analyst, SouthBridge), and Philip Samura (Mandela Rhodes Scholar; University of Cape Town) This initiative was delivered in collaboration with the ALU International Business and Trade (IBT) team, led by Edwick Murungu, Program Lead, alongside IBT faculty. At ALU, we remain committed to empowering alumni-led initiatives that shape Africa’s future. #ALU #YoungTradeSociety #AlumniImpact #TradePolicy #IBT #ALU #InternationalBusiness #Trade #FutureLeaders #AfricaRising

Learning should be joyful. And in Kigali, that vision came to life. At the inaugural Fun Learning Conference, over 200 educators, caregivers, school leaders, policymakers, and researchers came together to reimagine early childhood education, proving that learning is most powerful when it is playful, practical, and deeply human. We’re proud that ALU students were part of this landmark moment, engaging with bold ideas, participating in hands-on workshops, and gaining real-world insights into creative, play-based learning approaches shaping classrooms across Rwanda. From live demonstrations to practical tools, the conference was a powerful reminder that the future of education is not just about what we teach but how we teach it. #ALU #FutureOfEducation #FunLearning #EducationInnovation #AfricaRising

What a journey it has been! Our first 2026 Laikipia Field School SIE in Laikipia has officially come to a close and what an immersive experience it was. Based at Male Conservancy, students stepped into the heart of the wildlife economy, engaging in hands-on conservation while exploring iconic sites including Lolldaiga Hills Ranch, Ol Jogi Conservancy, Twala Cultural Community, Mpala Research Centre, and Space for Giants. Each visit offered unique insights into conservation, culture, and community. A standout moment was participating in the Business of Conservation Conference, where students connected with industry leaders, built meaningful networks, and explored innovative solutions shaping Africa’s conservation future alongside a special engagement with H.E. Ernest Rwamucyo. The experience culminated in student-led presentations, showcasing sustainable development solutions across wildlife mapping, conservancy operations, carbon projects, land management, and data-driven nature recovery. An impactful journey that truly brought conservation to life 🌱 #ALU #SIE #GlobalLearning #Conservation #Sustainability #AfricaRising

Big ideas. Bold conversations. Future traders in the making. Last week, our International Business and Trade (IBT) students came together for the IBT Seminal Readings Intensive and Young Trader Conference, a dynamic experience designed to challenge perspectives and deepen understanding of global markets. From engaging with foundational texts to exploring real-world trade dynamics, students pushed their thinking, sharpened their insights, and stepped into the mindset of global business leaders. The Young Trader Conference brought it all to life, with rich discussions, practical insights, and a clear focus on what it takes to navigate and lead in today’s complex economic landscape. Moments like these are where theory meets practice, and where the next generation of African trade leaders begins to take shape. #ALU #InternationalBusiness #Trade #FutureLeaders #AfricaRising
