Last week, the PCOS APPG convened parliamentarians, clinicians and NHS leadership to discuss delivery of a national pathway for PCOS as a chronic, multisystem condition. The focus was on implementation and alignment across policy and commissioning. More to follow.

Today I chaired the the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) bringing together charities, clinicians and advocates to improve healthcare for women with this condition. PCOS affects 1 in 8 women, yet many face delayed diagnosis and fragmented care. At the meeting, we discussed the need for faster diagnosis and better access to specialist support in primary care. Thank you to everyone who shared their expertise and lived experience. Through the work of this APPG, we will ensure women with PCOS receive the personalised care they deserve.

This week I met with @veritypcos and Baroness Merron, Minister for Women’s Health. We discussed the PCOS APPG’s recommendations on diagnosis and care pathways. The Minister acknowledged the long-standing underfunding and neglect of PCOS. Progress is being made - PCOS will be included in the new NHS England Online Hospital when it launches - an important step towards faster access to care.
