Since 2018 a lot of our #ArchiveVolunteers have been working on updating our Schools Admissions Databases. We are now pleased to announce that we have a master index for all school admissions up to the end of 1924. This index will be launched at an event on Sat 9th May #Archive30
Thank you to four of our very dedicated #ArchiveVolunteers who have now catalogued over 10700 building plans - we estimate there are less than 5000 left to catalogue 😃

Whilst we have rules around consuming food and drink inside the Archives itself, some records in our collection highlight the continued cultural and economic significance of food and home-grown produce within our community.

In 1983 the government allocated the papers of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, to the University under heritage legislation. This was our first major manuscript collection and lead to the creation of an Archives Department #ArchiveBeginnings#Archive30@ARAScot

The oldest document in the Dundee Town Council collection is this charter from Robert the Bruce. It is dated 1327, so that means next year it will be 700 years old. How do you think we should celebrate? 🤔

Whilst our collections predominantly start with the arrival of Governor Moody in 1841, we do hold some correspondence relating to the Islands from the 1830's.
