The 50th ASOIF General Assembly convened today in Lausanne. The meeting was opened by ASOIF President Ingmar De Vos before the @iocmedia President Kirsty Coventry addressed the ASOIF members. This year's ASOIF membership's annual gathering featured updates on the implementation of ASOIF's new Strategy 2026-2032, refreshed brand identity and the Sixth Review of IF Governance. The IOC, the Organising Committees of @jojdakar2026, @LA28, @Brisbane_2032, as well as the @wada_ama and the @IntTestAgency presented their reports to the General Assembly. The 50th ASOIF General Assembly will take place on 27 May in Lausanne. This year’s gathering of ASOIF’s members will be opened by ASOIF President Ingmar De Vos, followed by opening remarks from the IOC President Kirsty Coventry. This week, the ASOIF Sustainability Workshop attracted 66 participants from more than 30 IFs to discuss pressing sustainability topics. The Workshop addressed the subjects like delivering major sporting events in the context of climate risk, advancing sustainable finance, strengthening accountability frameworks for event organisers, mapping procurement practices, integrating sustainability into sponsorship agreements, and promoting environmentally responsible sports venues. Developing the next generation of women leaders in sport! ASOIF’s Women Leadership Programme 2026 has successfully kicked off, bringing together 40 women from 27 Summer Olympic International Federations for a five-week virtual programme designed to strengthen leadership skills and confidence. Through expert-led sessions and practical projects, participants explore topics such as leadership strategy, campaigning, political intelligence and the role of emerging technologies like AI in leadership. The programme aims to empower emerging leaders - including Olympians, newly elected board members and federation staff - to thrive in decision-making roles across international sport. The ASOIF Council convened today to review progress on the implementation of its newly adopted strategy, receive an update on the ongoing Sixth Review of IF Governance and discuss a number of other items.
