In the new study presented at #ATS2026, researchers found that positional therapy, which uses a device to encourage patients to sleep on their side, leads to long-term behavior changes and improvement for patients with obstructive #sleepapnea, even after active treatment is stopped. “We observed that positional therapy was not only effective — comparable to #CPAP — but also better tolerated, supporting its role as a valuable alternative for patients who struggle with CPAP adherence,” said first author Irene Cano-Pumarega, MD, PhD, Ramón y Cajal Hospital. A new study presented at #ATS2026 shows intense exercise and long-term ozone exposure interact to influence lung development in children. The study, by James Scales, PhD, @QMUL, and colleagues, suggest that children in more polluted areas may not be able to gain the same developmental health benefits from physical activity as their peers in cleaner environments.
