Over the last two and half weeks, we've been fortunate enough to have 37 schools on campus, along with some of the top head coaches in the game. It is a special time on Main Street! Our guys have worked extremely hard for these opportunities, and they deserve the exposure! #TCB

We are very excited to share that a study that was partially funded by A Shot For Life was published this week in the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Bryan Choi and Dr. William Curry at Massachusetts General Hospital published the results of a phase 1 clinical trial of a novel CAR-T cell therapy used in patients with recurring glioblastoma. The study showed dramatic and rapid tumor reduction. No other treatment has ever had this effect on glioblastoma. CAR-T cell therapy extracts some of a patient’s T cells — the white blood cells that protect the body from infection — and reprograms them into a tailor-made, one-time treatment that can detect and destroy cancer cells. Patients’ T cells were collected and transformed into the new version of CAR-TEAM cells, which were then infused back into each patient. Just days after a single treatment, patients experienced dramatic reductions in their tumors, with one patient achieving near-complete tumor regression in five days after one treatment. While two of the three patients in the trial had their tumors eventually progress after 6 months, one did not as of the end of the trial. More funding and research is necessary that will focus on the effective duration of this treatment. We want to congratulate Dr. Bryan Choi and Dr. William Curry on this groundbreaking advancement in glioblastoma research, and on their unending commitment to curing cancer as we know it. They can count on the support of A Shot For Life in the next steps of this journey. #ASFL
