A friend of mine makes and sells oil perfumes, so I decided to support her by buying two different fragrances.
When the first bottle finished, I could not bring myself to throw it away. The same thing happened with the second bottle.
The bottles were still neat, strong, and reusable.
Then I thought,
“Why can’t she reuse these bottles to package new perfumes?”
The only thing she needed to change was the label because the old one had faded.
So I reached out to her and told her I wanted to return the empty bottles.
She was genuinely shocked.
She said nobody had ever returned perfume bottles to her before, and she had never even considered reusing them.
I had to explain my thought process to her.
Eventually, she accepted the idea, collected the bottles, cleaned them properly, and repackaged new fragrances in them.
Just like that, those bottles avoided ending up in a landfill.
Now imagine if more people started doing this with all the glass perfume bottles we use, both local and international brands.
It may seem small, but actions like this can reduce waste and environmental pollution over time.
If you are a LOCAL PERFUME PRODUCER, maybe it is time to start encouraging CUSTOMERS to return their empty bottles for REUSE.
