Pretty in pink! 🌸 April’s full Moon—nicknamed the pink Moon—rises tonight, 4/12. But don’t let its nickname fool you, the color of the Moon will remain unchanged tonight. Rather, its name comes from the springtime bloom of the pink flowers seen in North America this month!

BIG NEWS: #Spring is on the horizon! As always, the beginning of astronomical spring in #Chicago brings the beloved #Chicagohenge! 🌇 Look up to the east/west horizon just after sunrise and just before sunset on 3/20–3/23 to see it for yourself! 😎

The Moon will be sneaking around in the shadows next week. 🤫 The 3/14 #TotalLunarEclipse is visible across ALL of North and South America, so be sure to check when the eclipse starts in your time zone! 🌕

They don’t call it the #SnowMoon for nothing! ❄️ February’s #FullMoon—AKA the snow Moon—rises tonight, 2/12, and is living up to its name by bringing snow with it here in #Chicago. Stay warm and try to catch a glimpse of the Moon tonight! 🌕

It's the moment we’ve all been waiting for…the #PlanetParade is here! 🪐 Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will all be naked-eye visible after sunset, now through the end of January. Plus, Neptune and Uranus will be visible with a little help from a telescope or binoculars. 🔭

⛄ Frost(y) the supermoon, was a jolly happy space rock! Tonight, the frost Moon—also known as the beaver Moon—rises in the night sky after sunset. Since this full Moon will be just under 225,000 miles away from Earth, it is a supermoon! 🌕
