More time I spend here the bigger Ethereum bull I become. I truly feel like it will be the defacto ‘internet money’ for the world. I think it checks boxes that Bitcoin is technically incapable of doing while maintaining a similar level of neutrality and decentralization that can never be replicated again by another L1.

Ethereum is growing more than 10 times faster than Solana. Over the past year, while influencers and VCs were busy declaring ETH dead, Ethereum added more than $40B in stablecoin supply. In that same period, Solana added just $2.8B. There’s a wide gap between narrative and reality. The reality is that Ethereum continues to strengthen its position as the clear leader in global finance and institutional adoption.

Ethereum holders are done debating this. It's an old topic that has been explored ad nauseum. Ethereum's technology is serving to purpose of operating the most resilient and decentralized smart contract network and it is the preferred platform for institutions because it is the best at what it does. The end.

"Ethereum's new mandate means that eth/Vitalik are giving up on growth and huge impact" is a mid take on a major inflection. David is dead wrong on this. Left/right curve takes are the same here: Ethereum is going for civilizational victory. Join us

.@TrustlessState read is brutally simple: “the real lens for this document is it’s Vitalik telling you what Ethereum is not going to do.”

The hive mind is definitely real, and such an odd part of society. I understand people’s need to “fit in” with their preferred social group, but for so many people to ignore all logical reasoning, and blindly choose a side based on “social acceptance” is extremely disappointing.

Erik Vorhees: “ETH is still the king, and I don’t see it being dethroned" The founder of ShapeShift and Venice AI is asked if Ethereum was a “sustainable ecosystem.” He replies: “I think [Ethereum] is more than sustainable. I think it is the clear winner of the smart contract innovation. It actually wasn’t the first mover in smart contracts, but it was the first one to achieve any sort of scale with smart contracts. What’s most important about Ethereum isn’t so much the first-mover advantage as much as it is the network effect it has had since it was released.” Erik continues: “I think both Bitcoin and Ethereum have achieved a network effect that is close to unassailable. People have gotten distracted with some of these other L1s, but if you look at metrics like where the developers are and where stablecoin volumes are, these are hard to fake metrics that are very important. They’ve always been predominantly on Ethereum. It’s not even close. I’m glad that other people tried to build L1s. The process of innovation and competition is really important. But ETH is still the king, and I don’t see it being dethroned. It has had various scaling challenges — the patchwork of L2s and the UX problems between them sucks. But I have a suspicion that Base is going to end up becoming the predominant L2 on top of the predominant L1 of ETH and that vertical is going to be very powerful and very strong. So yes, I’m always bullish on ETH in the same way I’m always bullish on Bitcoin.” However, Erik warns that if Base loses its permissionlessness it “will flounder and deserves to die”: “Base has designed things very well. It has gotten a lot of adoption and very quickly became the major L2 even though it was not the first mover. I think it’s gaining a network effect pretty quickly. It obviously has a very powerful corporate ally in Coinbase, and to the degree that Coinbase does not abuse that privilege, that’s a very good privilege. Abuse here means: if Coinbase tries to exert control over base such that it loses its permissionlessness, then it will flounder and deserves to die. But Coinbase has been a very good actor in this regard, and they deserve a lot of credit for demonstrating the principles of decentralization and permissionless innovation in several parts of what they do. Obviously the centralized exchange is not that, but it’s not trying to be either.” Source: @CoinDesk (Dec 2025)

@RuzhyoX @aPerfect_System @DCinvestor I love it. A gift for humanity, imo. I’ve also been the “weird ETH girl” friend of my group (they also hate that and the adjacent ecosystems as well). So even though I’m a “liberal”, I’m probably not what most people think of when they imagine the hyper-left stereotype.

@RuzhyoX @aPerfect_System @DCinvestor It’s not mid curve. I’ve been very liberal my entire life, and my liberal colleagues at work and my liberal friends all talk shit about AI, all of the time. There’s a vast amount of liberals who are jumping onto the Hate AI Bandwagon. It is what it is. It’s blue-coded now, 100%.

@chamath Your AI thesis assumes the digital world is quantum-resistant. If quantum breaks cryptography, it breaks AI, cloud infrastructure, banks, and the internet—not just Bitcoin. The entire stack upgrades together.

AI, cloud infra, data centers, banks, and the internet will all - ABSOLUTELY - need to be quantum resistant in a world where quantum becomes a reality. It would literally be catastrophically existential for all of those industries and ecosystems that you mentioned it being “less binary” for. It wouldn’t be less binary, at all. You’re talking about the end of civilization if those systems and infrastructure aren’t quantum resistant. And so Saylor is right. If you believe those industries will be fine in a quantum world, then by default, you believe they’ll all be quantum resistant. And if you believe that, then logically Bitcoin is also quantum resistant in that scenario. You just proved the point he made.

I think it just - somehow - became partisan, like everything else. If you’re left leaning in any capacity, it’s now become some political issue that must be defeated. “AI EVIL”. It’s extremely reminiscent of the mRNA vaccines, and the weird, blind ideology that spread across the exact same demographic. This time, it’s AI, so let’s remember how things went with COVID: - Logic does not matter, we will not be able to have a logical or reasonable discussion with these people - Science and reality does not matter, we will not be able to cite actual data, studies, or science and be able to reason with these people on why AI is a democratizing and sovereign technology - Simply enjoying this new thing that they have been told to hate - AI - means we are all now their enemy, and we cannot ever be friends or even co-exist with each other We’re literally going to have to oust these luddites from civilized society. The good news is that by being anti-everything tech, they’re now accelerating their own demise…in the workplace, in society, and in their communities. We simply need to allow time to do its normal thing.
