In one picture… an entire lifetime is trapped between two dates. 💔🐾
Feb 5, 2010 — he was just a tiny puppy, small enough to fit inside your arms like a warm little promise. His eyes were bright, innocent, full of laughter and curiosity, as if the world was made only for running, playing, and being loved. 🥺✨
Then time did what time always does… it moved quietly, mercilessly, stealing moments without warning. Days became years. And the things you never thought would end… slowly started fading. His crazy zoomies. His fearless jumps. His happy bark at the door. The way he would run to you like you were his whole universe. 🕰️💭
Feb 5, 2026 — same home… same soul… but now his body carries the weight of every season he survived. His back is bent. His steps are slow. His face is covered in white, not from snow… but from years of loyalty. 🐕🦺🤍
And yet… look closer.
Behind those tired eyes is still the same puppy from 2010.
Still waiting. Still trusting. Still loving you with everything he has left. 🥀❤️
This isn’t just a dog aging.
This is a silent reminder that while we were busy living… he was busy staying.
Through every heartbreak. Every move. Every storm. Every day you came home tired and he still greeted you like you were the best thing that ever happened to him. 🏡✨
People say dogs don’t live long enough…
but maybe they live exactly long enough to teach us the hardest lesson of all:
Love doesn’t ask for forever… it only asks to be remembered. 💔🐾
So if you still have your dog… hold them tighter tonight.
Because one day, you’ll look at an old face full of gray…
and you’ll realize you didn’t just raise a dog…
You lived a whole lifetime with a best friend. 🥺❤️🐶

I was in Udupi over the weekend to attend a family event. While returning, I decided to drive through the Sakleshpura route from Mangalore. I hadn’t taken this route for at least two or three years because of the bad roads around Shiradi ghat.
As I was passing through, I remembered the Hanbal Chikki Factory, and I felt like I had to stop by. I’ve known Ravi Teja, the founder, for around six to seven years now and have always admired his resilience and passion for building Hanbal Chikki as a premium, healthy snacking brand from a tiny village near Sakaleshpura.
When I reached the place, I called Ravi on a whim to see if he was around, and surprisingly, he was right there inside the factory outlet. He was busy fixing a new machine he had installed to roll out healthy chakli options for his customers. A few minutes later, he came out to meet me - the same cheerful, humble man I met years ago, dressed in his panche, smiling as always.
It felt great to see him again after so many years. Despite all the ups and downs, Ravi has built the business to an annual revenue of around Rs 6–7 crore, yet he remains the same grounded person. We chatted for a while. I had spoken to him on and off in the past, trying to help in small ways to promote his brand when he was just getting started.
Now, it made me genuinely happy to see how much the brand has grown. He mentioned that nearly 60 percent of his revenue now comes from the factory outlet itself. Travellers passing through the route often stop by, explore the store, and buy varieties of chikkis, spices, and other local products. Visitors can even peek into the kitchen and see how the chikkis are made, observing the hygiene and cleanliness standards firsthand.
While we talked, he shared that Hanbal Chikki now supplies to corporates for snack orders, sells on Amazon, through WhatsApp, and even supplies to ISKCON and the Dharmasthala Temple nearby. His philosophy is simple: “If you deliver high-quality products consistently, trust builds automatically.”
Ravi now feels that they have earned that trust in the region, and he is proud that the company has created over 40 stable jobs in the small village of Hanbal, near Sakleshpur.
He also spoke about how particular they are about ingredient quality. Hanbal Chikki now offers 15 to 20 varieties, from orange and coffee chikkis to pomegranate and rose. I asked him if they used any artificial flavours or colours to make these, and he said no. They work with a Kerala-based company to source dried fruit powders, which they blend directly into the chikkis. Everything is completely natural.
He believes that while chikkis made with jaggery and peanuts are inherently healthy, they should also be fun and appealing for kids. That is why they have experimented with fruity flavours, and it has worked beautifully.
He even showed me a new coconut burfi-style product they recently launched, which is already selling well. Ravi’s approach is to launch at least one new product each month and closely observe how customers respond.
After spending years in the corporate world, learning how to build systems and processes, he returned to his village to do meaningful organic farming and gradually built this brand step by step. Today, he has not only built a successful business but also made a genuine social impact in his community.
Meeting him left me deeply inspired and content. Here is a man who truly followed his calling, built something meaningful, and is now creating opportunities for others in his village. I wish Ravi and the Hanbal Chikki team great success in the years to come.
If you are ever driving through Sakleshpur, do stop by their outlet or check out their products at: hanbalchikki.com
