Super excited to announce that I'm now working full time with @1047Games / @Splitgate 🎊 Couldn't be happier to be working with such an amazing group of people and to be a part of a game I love so much. Extremely excited for the future 🤩

@_JasonLT @okcamars All these guys would foul out once from making crazy faces, whipping their head back, falling over from small contact, etc. then cut it out forever.

@_JasonLT @okcamars imo NHL largely solved this problem. Rename flopping technical to embellishment. Don't just call it for faking contact when there was none, call it any time a player embellishes contact. This should include if it was a real foul being embellished - call a double foul.

Shai foul baits. Every player does, because they are employed to win basketball games. Everytime Shai has the ball he’s obviously looking to score, he isn’t looking to “flop”. Now he like every other volume guard (Luka/Harden) not because they woke wanting to flop, but when you can score this well & are so smart, you would take an advantage of free buckets right? Like look at the Shai “flop” on Reaves. He’s ready to score but he sees Reaves reach so obviously he goes up for a shot. That’s a skill. You don’t see like Jordan Clarkson doing that because he can’t recognize it as fast as Shai & Luka, etc These guys are the best scorers because of skill, but also because of reaction time, craft & you know that Shai drives the most. Shai has GOAT like balance & has a frame that is obviously unique. When he gets on these drives and has lower body contact, his body will react differently than most because he plays lower to the ground. When a players playing upright, versus when a 6’6 player is playing to the ground there will be a different reaction with the body Like the shot on Ayton, do you think he intended to flop? Or he got low, his body get tangled and obviously he loses balance. Yes he does foul bait, but really theratics are not abnormal. I believe this for a lot of the league, unironically I think Smart”s one of the real true floppers. It’s blown out of proportion because it’s been pushed by this pages & now everytime Shai does something, foul bait, lose balance, which he does, it gets posted 100x & gets a million interactions. I know you watch basketball & you can go look at full games, Shai’s maybe the greatest 1on1 scorer ever. “Foul baiting” is a counter to bad defense Not an indictment on Shai

I’m gonna put you on the spot because you strike me as a passionate basketball fan and I’m curious to see if you can admit it. Let’s pretend just for the sake of your argument it’s only 4 or 5 times a game. Can you admit that even though Shai is an amazing basketball player, and probably the best in the world, that it kind of sucks that he flops as much as he does and the game of basketball would be better if he (and everyone else) stopped doing it? Just want to hear your answer. Let’s see if there’s any common ground to be found here.

Did you really just say if you had said something less negative, it wouldn’t have been viewed as negative No shit? “I should have said it was a joke” backtracking just makes you look even worse “We shouldn’t be take positive about every player”, who said we need to do this? You do realize people were upset cause your idea of discussing baseball is looking at a spreadsheet right? Justifying someone’s entire career with a single column of data and no context is just downright lazy. Theirs a lot of context behind everything in sports. This video might be worse than the original tweets.

@natsuyasumimi I almost rewrote “any other” to “most others” to avoid this, but thought it was clearly enough hyperbole. What I mean is simply that most people don’t work in an industry similar to video games (I’d probably include motor racing in that, but I don’t know enough)

@akvvo there are plenty of industries like this. motor racing is a good example, lots of supremely talented engineers working crunch hours for pitiful money out of passion and love of the game, when >90% of them are going to lose. gamedevs have this weird exceptionalism about themselves

The video game industry is unlike any other, and I think that makes it challenging for people on the outside looking in to understand and empathize with devs.

I empathize with Josh, the team at Wildlight, and all other indie devs who've faced a similar fate. This sucks, and I'm sorry.

My point is that the devs behind these projects are real people. When you say "dead on arrival", you're rooting for a lot of real people losing their jobs. Real, passionate people who aspired to make something fun.

@SapphicCykes @IntelDeadlock I knew that already. What I'm trying to say is, that didn't work either. I went to every single exit inside the tunnels and it didn't work. I even tried jamming myself under parts of the level geometry hoping it would think I was legit stuck and teleport me. Nothing worked.
