Today the Alarm Phone turns 11 years old. Since we started in Oct. 2014, we assisted over 10.000 boats in distress, trying to accompany them on their journeys to Europe. Also in the years to come, we’ll keep struggling with people on the move & for the freedom of movement of all!

We were not able to establish contact with this group again but hope they’re among the ~600 rescued people that arrived on #Crete the last days, as local media reports. We hope they reached the island and are now in safety.

🆘 from ~75 people in distress south of #Gavdos, #Greece We have received another distress call from a drifting boat with 75 people. They cannot move on due to a broken engine and are in urgent need of support. @HCoastGuard is alerted and we demand immediate #rescue now!

We believe that this boat has been rescued to the port of Kalamata according to media reports. @HCoastGuard refuses to provide information & we can't confirm with the group themselves but hope to find out more soon and that they arrived safely.

🆘 from ~34 people, including 2 babies south of #Peloponnese peninsula, #Greece! The group reports that they are in severe distress: the engine is not working anymore, they are adrift & water is coming into the boat! We informed the @HCoastGuard & urge them to react immediately!

We believe that this boat has been rescued to Kaloi Limenes, according to the information on rescues provided by the @HCoastGuard of Kaloi Limenes. We cannot confirm with the group or their relatives but hope to find out more soon.

🆘 from ~43 ppl in distress on their way to #Crete #Greece We were contacted by another group on their way to Crete. They're seriously in distress, water is coming into the boat and its running low on fuel. Authorities are informed. We demand immediate #rescue and #SafePassage!

🆘 from 4 boats in the Eastern Med! We know of 4 boats with a total of ~187 people near #Crete & #Gavdos, #Greece. The groups, who fled #Libya, report serious distress and most of them have water coming into their boats. Authorities are informed: rescue before it's too late!

🆘 from ~32 people on their way to #Crete, #Greece We were contacted by yet another group of 32 people on their way to Crete. They're seriously in distress with a lot of water coming into the boat. Authorities are informed. We demand immediate #rescue and #SafePassage!

@HCoastGuard We lost contact to the people and @HCoastGuard is not confirming if they were rescued or not. However, there are media reports that there were several rescues yesterday. We hope this boat was among them and that the group arrived safely.

🆘 from ~34 people in distress south of #Crete! We were called by the people travelling to Greece. They told us there is water inside the boat and they are running very low on fuel. We informed the @HCoastGuard about their distress & urge them to send rescue now!

We have now learned that the group of 34 people was intercepted by Libyan forces and returned to the place they had tried to escape from. We hope they will find freedom and safety one day.

🆘 ~40 people in distress south of #Crete! We were informed about another group on their way to Greece, who urgently needs rescue! In total we know of 6 boats in distress. @HCoastGuard is alerted but refuses further information. We demand immediate rescue & #SafePassage now!

We informed @HCoastGuard, who says is busy handling the requests. We highlighted the severe distress of 1 group whose boat is taking on water. The 35 passengers told us that one side of the inflatable boat collapsed. All boats need to be rescued now!! 2/

🆘️ from several boats in distress south of #Crete! We were alerted to in total 4 boats travelling to the island. We are in contact with 1 of the groups - but cannot reach the other groups. In these cases we speak to their worried relatives. 1/

🆘 from ~38 people south of #Crete, #Greece! We just spoke to the people who are travelling to Crete. They told us that they are exhausted & asked for help. Relatives are worried about their fate. We informed the @HCoastGuard about their distress & ask them to send rescue now!

We have had no news since 23 people left Boumerdès #Algeria 7 days ago. @Salvamentogob hasn't found them, and the Algerian authorities refuse to provide information. Our thoughts and solidarity are with the families who are left in uncertainty. We demand #SafePassages!

Where are they? We still have no news about the 23 people. The #Algerian Coast Guard have no news either, and @Salvametnogob is still searching. Relatives are getting increasingly worried as time passes. We demand #SafePassages to end all disappearances at sea!

🆘 on the route from #Algeria to the Balearic Islands! Relatives informed us about 23 people who left #Boumerdes on 20 May, heading to #Spain. Relatives don’t have news from them. We are all very concerned, where are they? Authorities are informed.

We learnt that it was actually 6 people who were rescued! They were transferred to an Italian Coast Guard ship and brought to Lampedusa. We are relieved and hope they are in good health!

We believe the 5 people were rescued by the ASSO VENTICINQUE, which is currently heading north. MRCC Rome, who is coordinating the operation, confirmed it ordered the merchant vessel to take them to Italy. We hope they received medical care and will be taken to a safe place!

🆘 5 people stuck on oil platform in the central #Mediterranean! We are in contact with the group, who is abandoned on the #Didon platform and need urgent medical assistance. They fear a forced return to #Libya. Authorities are informed, a rescue to safety is urgently needed!
