@CacheMisses That’s easy! Funding institutions should give 1/3 to ground-breaking research and 2/3 for evaluation, reproducibility and replication. They just do not want to do it because the other 2/3 don’t end up in the news.

@alcides 100%! I don't disagree with this. I think right now there're some hurdles to overcome. Some are operational, i.e., how much effort to dedicate to peer review. Some are rather structural, having to do with incentives like maintaining artifacts vs. publishing the next paper.

How can I properly review a paper if I don't have access to the code that generated the results? I should be able to analyze it and check that the results are fair. If that comes at the cost of single-blindness, that's fine with me.
