🚨Important Update for Amazon Sellers
Major Change to Product Variation Review Sharing
Amazon is rolling out a major update on listing reviews starting from 12th February 2026 that how reviews will be shared across products in a variation to improve accuracy and help customers make more informed purchasing decisions. This change will help customers understand product-specific feedback before purchase, increasing trust and potentially decreasing returns
Under the new policy, Amazon will only share reviews across variations that have minor differences and do not affect product functionality. Previously reviews were pooled at the parent ASIN level even when variations had meaningful differences in features or performance which could potentially mislead buyers
Amazon will continue sharing reviews for variations that do not meaningfully change the user experience, including colour or pattern differences, size variations that maintain the same product function, pack size or quantity changes or different fitments for the same device type (for example, phone cases)
Products with functional or experiential differences such as variations in power, model, performance, flavor, material, or primary scent will no longer pool reviews. As a result individual ASINs may display fewer reviews and overall star ratings may change.
Audit all variation relationships in Manage All Inventory and confirm that variation types reflect only minor differences. Reorganise listings where functional differences exist between child ASINs. Prepare for potential changes in review counts and star ratings after the rollout
This update improves transparency and credibility in product feedback, benefiting customers and sellers who prioritize accuracy and trust. Reviewing your listings now will help you stay ahead of the change
