This week's featured childhood cancer hero is Chloe Booker! Behind Chloe’s sweet and shy disposition is a funny and friendly 13-year-old. At 4 years old Chloe began experiencing strange leg pains that moved to her arms and back. After she was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, she began treatment of all kinds, but still relapsed. Each year, an international community of researchers funded by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation gathers in Philadelphia to share progress, tackle challenges, and spark powerful collaborations across childhood cancer research. This year marked a major milestone: the inaugural Crazy 8 teams delivered their final presentations—closing one chapter while fueling the next. This week's featured childhood cancer hero is June Peden-Stade. June was the spunkiest, sassiest little girl you’d ever meet. Despite everything that June went through, she rarely lost the smile on her face. In 2020, June was diagnosed with stage 4 intermediate-risk neuroblastoma. At first, treatment helped shrink her tumor by 40%, but then it began progressing more aggressively. Sadly, she passed away in December 2022, but she is remembered through her family and all those who loved her. Read June's story> alexslemonade.org/hero/june-pede…

What does community mean to you?

Lucy Garibaldi was just 14 months old when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. After months of treatment Lucy beat her cancer, but complications from those treatments took her life just before her second birthday.
